wireless connection
I figured that it's about time we went wireless, regarding the internet connection here at home.
For a while now, I was using a SUPER long telephone wire to connect the telephone line to wherever the fuck my computer was located in the house. Haha! And since that wire was omnipresent the whole time, people were getting tripped. And so we decided to buy a wireless internet router.
I finally bought one in Trinoma. I was planning to buy a much lower quality china made router but my mom told me to buy the Linksys one. Well, she has a point of getting something of much higher quality para tumagal naman. Haha.
Imagine my surprise na wala palang kasama receiver yung router. Yes I get to receive connections with laptops and my PSP, but that leaves my desktop PC a little bit lonely! Haha! And so I needed an internet wi-fi receiver for the desktop. Off to Greenhills.
Along with my uncle Jerry, we went to Greenhills for the router. My uncle wanted to look for accessories for his laptop so he tagged along.
I asked around for the original Linksys wi-fi receiver and mahal siya! Almost 1,500 pesos. The next cheapest one I saw was 1,200php. That is until I got to CD-R King... 600 pesos! Hahaha! The only thing that made me consider was if I would risk buying a CD-R King accessory (which is highly defective or easily broken based on my history with them). What the heck, binili ko nalang. Haha!
After my uncle bought his laptop needs, we were done shopping. He treated me to a lunch in Greenwich for teaching him stuffs about computer and internet usage. ;p
Back at home, I immediately connected my recently bought CD-R King wi-fi receiver. I breathed a sigh of relief when I got it to work! Hahahaha! ;p
At long last, our house is a wi-fi zone with super duper firewall passwords and shit. Haha. Goodbye to that annoying telephone wire lying around the house, and hooray for me being able to use the laptop and PSP inside my room for internet purposes! ;)
Some notes:
*I finally found that GI Joe figure I was looking for! The rare silver masked Destro! It was being sold at 800php (last price of 600php). I was REALLY so tempted to buy it on the spot. But then, my uncle snapped me out of it. But nalang at nandun siya kung hindi, sure kong binili yun... which I shouldn't since I needed money for other more important things during those times. ;p
*On the way to GH, I drove through Kalentong. Grabe ang trapik! Yun pala nasunog yung isang mall dun. Sabi nila, sumabog raw yung mga paputok kasi may nag yosi or something. tsk tsk.

I’m with you - I love my wireless network, and I’d never go back to dialup and the mess of phone chords again. I live in Portland and I use Clear wireless internet (www.clear.com/?utm_source=bc) as my ISP. I have a laptop outfitted with an affordable wireless USB modem that I got from Clear and, thanks to their city wide WiMAX network, I can surf the web throughout downtown Portland. Wireless is awesome!
Right on, man! My only gripe for the moment is that sometimes, the connection "blinks" for a moment-- and big sized downloads with no resume capability gets disconnected.
So sometimes, when I download big sized files that takes long hours to complete, I resort to connecting the wires again just to make sure. ;p
