Puerto Azul - Caysubic resort

Out of the blue, my mom asked me and my ate to take my dad to the beach! Unfitting since its December... its cold! But hey, I'm a good son so I agreed to come.

Puerto Azul in Cavite. It's been years since I last went here. Back when I was in highschool, we come here almost twice a month. My dad was a high ranking manager in Meralco and he had access to the Meralco vacation house here in Puerto Azul. Plus, my dad like to go on out of town trips.

Being as it is, I had very fond memories of Puerto Azul. Back then, it was bursting with life. Lots of people checking in, kids running around and taking a dip in the pool at the clubhouse, me ordering halo-halo at the bar. There's even different sections in Puerto Azul like an entertainment spot, a sports spot, etc. It was definitely a fun place to be.

And now? It's like a ghost town. The hotel closed down, the grasses devoured the old tennis courts which I used to play at, and the old busy buzz in the clubhouse is gone. Ghost town, that's what it is. The only reason that the place is still open is because of the Golf course which avid golfers still frequents too, it seems.

We checked in to Caysubic Beach anyway. It's a beach part of Puerto Azul which still have cabins for rent. Last time I was here, I was reading Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned. Surprisingly, the place is still open. But just like the whole of Puerto, its only a shadow of its old self. The place wasn't as maintained as it used to be, but its still good.

I actually still enjoyed the trip. It was probably the nostalgia. After we got into the room, we rest for a bit. I proceeded to stroll around the beach. It was actually tempting to swim, but it was freezing cold! My mom yanked me instead to go with her and hike around Puerto Azul. The scenery is still amazing. If only I had an DSLR cam, I would probably had a field day with that.

All in all, I feel pity for the place. It was actually a great place to invest at. I wonder why the owner left it to that though. Someone should just buy it and bring it back to its old glory.

Anyway, come night time, we learned that we're the only visitors that stayed overnight in the resort. So we practically had the whole resort to ourselves. Haha!

The place is actually a great barkada trip. Nice beach and all. And you got the whole place to yourself! ;p

...at oo, mahangin sa labas. hahaha!

Hi. Maybe you could share Caysubic's contact numbers? I can't find any other info online. Thanks!

Hi Michelle! Believe it or not, Caysubic does not have a landline telephone! Haha! My mom drove there during a road trip and inquired.

But fear not. I checked my mom's old cellphone and saw a contact number. Might as well try it.

0465240097

And yeah, that's not a typo. I copied it directly from the phone. I dunno what kind of network company with "046" as the start of the number. Try it anyways. :)

That was quick, thanks! I think 046 is Cavite's area code, so it's going to be a long distance call but it doesn't matter. Thanks again.

Hi anonymous. The main Puerto Azul is already closed for a long time-hotel, game area, etc. The only thing left open was the golf area.

The pool area (in the clubhouse) is still open, I think. Its just that it felt like a ghost town because there's not a single customer using it. This was December 2008, the last time I was here.

You can try the Caysubic resort. Its inside the Puerto Azul compound, and is managed by Puerto Azul itself. It's just a beach though, no pool. We'll be going there tomorrow! ;)
