The Boston Celtics are the 2008 NBA Champions

Yeah, it actually pains me to write about this. The Celtics beat my team, the Lakers, in six games to win the NBA Championship. They capped the series off with a blowout game 6. Yes, tambak ng 40 points ang Lakers! :(

Even through all this, I'm man enough to admit that the Celtics is the better team this year. Their defense is terrific! Aside from a very biased game 2 (where the Lakers made/attempted more points inside the pain than the Celtics, but still had 28 less free throws!?), the Celtics definitely outplayed the Lakers.

Their stifling defense was enough to overcome a 25 point deficit in game 4, and was potent enough to derail the Lakers into a confused and paranoid team.

So there, props to the Celtics. They deserved the title because they were the better team. I'm hoping for a rematch next season! ;p

As for my fellow Laker fans, have no fear. The Lakers would can't go anywhere but up next season. Next season, we'll have our true center back... Andrew Bynum.

Pau Gasol was forced to take the center position because of Bynum's absence. Gasol is too soft for center, that's why it was one of the Lakers' weakness in the playoffs... Gasol is more of a finesse scoring player than a defensive "bang it inside" player.

So with Bynum back in the lineup for next season, expect this line-up:

PG: Fisher/Farmar
SG: K-o-b-e B-r-y-a-n-t
SF: Odom (or Ron Artest... there are rumors of a trade!)
PF: Pau Gasol (now in his natural position... can concentrate on offense!)
C: Andrew Bynum (who will provide the tough inside presence that the Lakers need, and can be a scoring option next to Bryant and Gasol!

Bench: Vujacic (can be an x-factor from time to time), Ariza (fully recovered/ probably the team's best defender next to Bryant), Walton, Turiaf, Radmanovic (thank god he's no longer a starter!)

So with a lineup like that, the Lakers have a bright future. So don't worry. All we can do for now is accept the defeat, but at least we have something to look for next season.
