friday car accident

Since I was so enthralled by West Side Story, I forgot all about the Friday car accident that we had. Haha!

We were on our way to PIA (my mom's office), the three of us, with my mom driving. My sister was on the front passenger sit, while I sat on the back right behind my mother, as usual.

Every morning when I ride with them, I always have the habit of leaning and resting my head on the door. And I did just that.

When we got out of the subdivision gate and right in front of Sugar Towne... BAAAAAMMMM!!!! An errant car hit us!! Right at the left tail of our car!! I was dazed for a bit. First thing I checked is if everyone is ok. Buti walang nasaktan. Next thing I did was I got out of the car to look at the car that hit us. Tumigil eh.

So I when I got out of the car, biglang tumakbo yung kotse niya, pumasok ng subdivision! So I memorized the plate number and went inside our car quick. Mama tried to turn the car around fast para mahabol namin. Ang bilis, hindi namin inabutan. Then we alerted the subdivision guards about it. Since nakatakas, our only option was to file a complaint on our clubhouse. Since homeowner din, malamang may records sila nun so we gave the plate number.

Grabe, badtrip kaagad kami umaga palang. Once we got to the office, my mom called up Tita Visha, our friend who works for LTO. In less than 30 minutes, we got the culprit's complete name and home address. Sure enough, it was a fellow homeowner!

So half-day si mama. Pumunta na kami sa Traffic Station sa may Fairview to file a formal complaint for hit and run.

Nak ng putek. Pag pasok ko palang ng office nila, amoy ko na yung "irresponsibility" at "corruption" sa office ng mga hinayupak! We saw a lady sitting inside and we proceeded to inquire. Nak ng patis, hindi pala nagta-trabaho dun... syota pala ng hepe na nakatambay lang sa opisina para maka-aircon at maki-nuod ng TV!! Tsk, tsk!!!

Then lumapit na kami dun sa hepe hepe nila. May kausap sa phone! Akala namin work related, yun pala nakikipag kwentuhan lang (he was talking about where to get cheap lechon for their inuman later that night). Pagkababa niya ng phone, inuna pa yung bagong dating na customers! Eh kanina pa kami dun.

After we finally got to him, ang dami pang sinasabi. Pulis patola talaga! Actually, ang sarap hambalusin ng patola! Feeling Bong Revilla kung humirit eh! Get my drift? Haha!

At hindi pa yun, ambastos pa. Kinakausap namin siya tapos biglang may pumasok na kumpare niyang traffic enforcer, bigla ba namang kinausap yung kumpare niya (while my mother is talking to him) at nagtanong na naman dun sa putang inang lechon!! Hahahaha!!

So I told my mother, wag na ito. Matagal rin kasi lakarin yung mga ganitong complaint. Sabi ko nalang, puntahan na namin direcho since alam na namin yung exact address and name nung nambaga sa amin. And so we did.

Punta kami sa clubhouse. We asked the guards to tell guide us where exactly this address is. Then they accompanied us. Natawa ako sa guard kasi bumulong sa akin na kung pwede wag kami masyadong mag skandalo kasi sila daw mayayari since sila nag-turo sa address nung culprit! Haha!

Upon seeing the gate of the culprit, kita kaagad yung car niya. Basag yung left front light. Walang takas yan, kitang kita yung damage sa kotse niya eh. So we began knocking on the gate. A maid answered, and we asked for the name that the LTO provided us. Wala raw, pero andiyan raw yung asawa.

Next one who came out was a bald guy (around 60 years old na) with no shirt on, asking what we're up to. Sabi namin, na-hit and run kami ng kotse nila! So he went back in, and out came the culprit next! Mukhang bagong gising pa! Haha!

So yun, he was very apologetic and offered his side of the story. He works for ABSCBN daw at tatlong araw na raw siyang walang tulog. This morning lang daw siya nakauwi because of work (I think for the production of Pinoy Dream Academy). Eh nakatulog raw siya sa manibela nang biglang may kumabog daw! Akala niya raw lubak o ano!!! Hahaha!! So dire-direcho lang daw siya. Tapos nagulat nalang daw siya na may sira na yung kotse niya pag-uwi niya! Hahaha!

Kayo guys, what do you think? Believable?

Me personally, I believe na nakatulog talaga siya... kasi my mom actually thought that the guy was either drunk or sleepy because of the way he was driving onwards us. So yeah, I believe he fell asleep. But hindi niya alam na nakabangga? I don't think so. Alam niya yun. Ang daming taong nag-crowd up eh after nung collision. Pati kung completely asleep siya, hindi niya na mababale yung steering wheel when he collided against our car. So alam niya dapat talaga na nabangga niya kami. Siguro nag-dalawang isip kung hihinto siya or tatakas nalang. Haha.

But then again, it's over na eh. Just give him the benefit of the doubt. He was very apologetic naman eh. He was in his mid-30's, father of two girls. Mukha namang mabait. Siguro nataranta lang talaga.

We ended up having an end-deal that he was going to cover all damages. So yun, mission accomplished. After it was all over, we had one hour to spare before we went to the West Side Story performance in Meralco. ;p

Thinking about it, as I've mentioned earlier about how I was positioned (leaning my head to the door), if the errant car hit our car a few inches near left, eksakto sa door yung bangga... sa mismong door kung saan naka-sandal yung ulo ko. Wow! Hahaha!

I guess I'm still lucky after all. :)
