Holy Week

The recently concluded Holy Week was really a quiet one, at least for me. Just stayed mostly at home. It was still a bit busy though.

Verge and Richard also invited me to go swimming with them at Club Manila East. I had to beg off since no one's gonna be left to tend to my sick dad. My mom's still in France for a day of work (and a week of much needed vacation), and I'm left here to look after my dad, do the groceries with my ate, and other work.

Also, Dale stayed over from Wednesday until Saturday. We played almost non-stop Monster Hunter just to farm that stupid Rathalos for it's Ruby. Dale needed two... he got it after a bajillion tries. Haha. I got 7 rubies in the same run. Yeah, MHF2 fucks you up when you need a particular item: it gives you plenty when you don't need it, and gives you none if you really need it.

Also during Maundy Thursday, we (me, Dale, and my ate) were supposed to go to Trinoma to watch a movie. Walang hiya, sarado pala ang mga malls! Haha. We proceeded nalang to go to Gotesco Commonwealth (hahaha!), which was surprisingly open, to have dinner.

Afterwards, nagkayayaan ng Bisita Inglesia (you have to go to seven churches). After a while, naisip namin na medyo hassle, so we just went to the Filinvest's church.

Then for some strange kantyawan, nagkayayaan magsimba sa UST! Ang layo! Hahaha! Go naman, wala namang traffic eh! ;p

So there, we went as far as UST. We didn't see any familiar faces though. Saya pa rin, parang joy ride na rin. ;p

Come Good Friday, we didn't do much that day. We just stayed mostly at home. Dale and I went biking. We went on and rode that uphill course. Halos hindi namin kinaya! Dale even said that his head was pulsating after sa sobrang pressure nung uphill street! Hahaha!

That night, we tried to order pizza because as Dale's pre-birthday treat. Eh sarado na pala yung deliveries, so we just went out and looked for any open pizza restos. We finally got to Yellow Cab Tandang Sora. I think it was already 11:30am that time.

Black Saturday. It was Dale's birthday. Yeah, the nigga turned 23. Jordan age na raw siya! Haha. He finally got those two Rathalos rubies he was farming for. Haha.

Dale left in the afternoon. He went back to Bulacan.

That night, it was my uncle's turn for me to tend. He needed help with his O2 hand held.

Now comes Easter Sunday, and I just slept the whole day through. Nothing special whatsoever.

There you have it, my Holy Week.

By the way, sorry for those who texted and I wasn't able to reply to. My line is still disconnected. I'm planning to cut it na eh. I'm just waiting for that 2-year bond with Smart to end (in a few days). Planning to switch to Globe na. ;p

*And Rix, if you're reading this, I'm sorry I couldn't reply. Miss you! :)
Stop being so workaholic, hindi na matuloy tuloy yung gimmick natin. Dami mo pang iki-kwento sakin! Haha! TC!

See you later, Ed!

One of my superfriends, Ed, finally left for Singapore this morning. There was even a surprise post-party arranged for him at his house, by the gang. Too bad I wasn't able to go. My mom went to France for a conference, so I was left looking after my sick dad.

Che also texted this morning that Ed's still in the airport, and if ever we want to call him. I didn't.

It's better this way, at least for me. I hate goodbyes. I had these moments when I was younger. I had a very special friend back then who had to go far away to another country. It was hard for me saying goodbye, but always I knew it was much harder for her for leaving us.

She was crying that day in the airport where we bid her goodbye. I never got to see her again. Eventually I learned that she's terminally sick. She passed away a while later.

Because of this, the last memories I had of her was when she was crying. It took me more than a year to recover emotionally. It even made me sick and leave my freshman year in college. It actually made me feel that a part of me had died.

So I wonder. Did I make it harder for her to leave because I was there? Or did I make it harder for myself for being there, and for the eventual revelation about her illness, and eventually her passing?

So there, I'm not too fond of goodbyes.

I'm not saying I won't see my pareng Edward again! Haha! Of course I will. It's just that, you know... those kind of events in life that scars you, and it eventually attaches to you. Kinda like a phobia, but not quite. Kinda confusing, noh? ;p

Anywho, I know Edward is happy. This is a big opportunity for him, and I wish him all the best. If ever my plans pushes through, I'll be seeing him in Singapore this summer! ;p

So yeah, it's kinda clear to me now:

This ain't goodbye, it's just "see you later". :)

hell of a day

As early as 8am, me and my sister were off to the hospital to follow up my dad's checkup. After, we went to the groceries.

After dropping off my sister, I'm off to UST to follow up my thesis. My car aircon is still broken, and I must say it was HOT kanina! Add the fact that there was HEAVY traffic in the Espana area because of another rally.

And after hours of waiting for the thesis docu, I was so PISSED OFF when I left UST! Do you want to know why!? ASK ME PERSONALLY.

I was so pissed off that I got to write a two page "hate poem" just recently. Yah I know, it's crazy!

I guess even how long you try to sharpen an old used up blunt knife, it will still stay blunt.

A Day in St. Lukes Hospital

I received a text message from my good friend Myk. His dad's blood count is in critical level because of dengue. He needs blood donors specifically blood type O+. The next thing I know, I was up and texting people in my contact list who can probably help.

Myk is a very good friend, and we'll do everything we can to help. So the very next day (today), there we were at St. Luke's getting our blood tested in hope that we get to donate blood for Myk's dad. :)

Almost all of the gang was there: me, Dale, Jem, Pilep, Che, Mark, Donna, Ed, and Leslie.

Dale, Ed, Leslie, and Jem hitched a ride from me. I couldn't fetch Che and Pilep because hindi na kasya sa car. When we got there, Mark was already there having his blood taken. He's a type A, so his blood was taken for reserve nalang. Donna soon followed.

Almost all of us got ourselves tested, but only one passed... me! Huwat!? Haha! Jem was low blood, Donna was underweight, Ed has colds, Dale is also a type A, Che and Pilep were puyat. Because of this, I was placed on-call for possible blood transfusion.

After the blood tests, we briefly visited Myk's dad who was confined on the hospital. I'm glad he still looks in good shape.

Afterwards, we then went to the Elyseum (tama ba?) Memorial Park beside the hospital and Trinity University. Went there to accompany Che who wanted to visit her Grandpa's grave. The place was actually nice. It was so serene and peaceful. Of course, camwhoring is a must! ;p

After the park, we're off to Burger King to eat! PSP, laptop, kwentuhan, camwhoring... the usual barkada stuff. I'm glad Myk's not depressed or what. He's his usual makulit self! Haha!

Afterwards, we all went home. And ang malas ko! Why!? Because I got caught by the MMDA... not once, but TWICE... in a span of 5 minutes!!! The fuck!? Hahaha!

What happened was, I'm going to drop off Dale in the Q.Ave MRT.. so ibabaw ako. I didn't notice that the road was segregated: left for PUB, right for private vehicles. I happened to go to left! So yun, hinarang. I reasoned out as usual, and ended up giving a bribe! That was shitty enough!

And then I dropped Dale off. When I got to the other side, I didn't notice the ONCE AGAIN segregated road! I'm off to the LEFT again! Harang na naman! PUTA! Hahaha! Two MMDAs now made me stop, kulang nalang tumalon na sila sa harap ng hood ko para patigilin ako! (Are they that desperate!? Haha!)

Again, I reasoned out. As usual, LAGAY na naman! The guy told me, "Ikaw na bahala". I told the guy, "Manong, sensya na ito lang nakayanan ko..."

Aba, sabi ba naman ng asungot: "Teka! Magkano ba yang binibigay mo!?"

Tangina! Demanding!!! Hahahaha! Akala siguro 20 pesos lang yung iaabot ko! Hahaha!

I told him, "50 pesos.."
Sabi niya, "Ah, ok na yan"

Tindi mo chong! Panira ka ng gabi ko! Hahaha!

I'm telling you, these MMDAs got theirs coming... just wait. Malilintikan rin yang mga yan! ;p

*Myk just called. His dad's blood level returned to critical just recently tonight! I'll be back to St. Lukes again tomorrow by 8am to donate blood/platelets.

Ed's Despedida-Birthday Party

It has finally come. Our last gimmik with Ed for a long time. He's going to stay in Singapore for a LOOONG time because of work.

Ed finally held his despedida/birthday party last night in Pizza Hut Bistro at the Glorietta 4 in Makati. Although the actual night was fun, I'm all EMO-ed up here right now... maybe because it finally sunk in that Ed's gonna be gone for a long while.

Let me recount the day.

I picked up Oninz in McDonald's Q.Ave at around 5pm. We then proceeded to Mark's place where Dale soon followed. Next stop was Donna's house where we picked her up. With the 5 of us, we're off to Glorietta.

7pm, we finally arrived. Ed and his friends are already in there. Surprisingly, Myk got there first! He was calling me earlier, saying he's gonna be late kasi nasa SM North pa daw siya! Haha! And guess what, Myk is SOOOOOOOO happy that night! Kasi he's with his "lady friend" Kate! Hehe! So we finally get to meet Kate. :)

Pay also came in right when we got there. It's great to see that she finally could come. Minsan lang kasi makasama si Pay because her parents are too strict! I missed her so I gave her a big hug! ;p

Another surprising appearance was Trudy. I frankly don't remember the last time I saw Trudy. I think it was 2nd year College or what. She was our classmate in UST, but she moved to Lyceum to shift to Tourism. Thing is, she now works at the DFA (Dept. of Foreign Affairs) and she got to help Ed with his passport. :)

Next to arrive was Che! And she came alone! She came from MOA where she watched a movie and play bowling with her family. Akala ko LQ sila ni Pilep kaya hiwalay sila pumunta! Haha! Turns out, na-overslept si Pilep because he was dead tired from work. ;p

Jem and Drey were the next to arrive. Soon after, Dom and Jeff did.

We finally started eating when after a long while, Pilep finally arrived! As I've said earlier, he overslept. 2pm na kasi siya nakauwi from work, so he tried to catch some sleep. Eh sobrang pagod, late na siya nakabangon. Funny thing was, Che started eating again after Pilep arrived! Hahahaha! ;p

After eating waves and waves of Pizza, the cam-whoring ensued! Haha! There were like 5-6 cameras there, and all were flashing! Haha! And nakakahiya dun sa Pizza Hut management since they're a "fine dining restaurant", and there we were camwhoring all over the place! Hahahaha!

Dinner was finally over and done. Ed bid his highschool friends goodbye. Na-solo na rin namin siya sa wakas! Hehe.

The initial plan was, mag Red Box daw. But plans changed. Pay was fetched by her dad. Drey and Jem had to go muna because it was Jem's mom's birthday. Myk and Kate had to go because may lakad pa raw sila the next day! (Go Myk! Hahaha! ;p)

The rest of us hanged out in Star Bucks instead. Coffee, kwentuhan, tawanan, PSP battles! ;p

After Leslie went home, the rest of us decided to spend the night away at Mark's crib! Dom and Jeff had to go because Dom have to go to work at 1am. She got a flight to Cebu. So we bid them goodbye.

So right that moment, there was: me, Dale, Oninz, Che, Pilep, Mark, Donna, and Ed.

And lahat nagkasya sa kotse ko! Talk about overload! Kandong si Che and Donna sa laps ng respective boyfriends nila! Hahaha! ;p

Buti nalang we got past the police checkpoint without getting noticed! ;p

MARK'S HOUSE
We finally made it here in one piece. Time to continue the party! Hehe! Plan now is to get completely drink the night away and get wasted! Magpakasaya habang kasama pa namin si Ed! ;p

Before all, Ed finally gets to open his birthday presents from us. Che and Pilep gave him a USB full of sentimental pics and videos (that was actually nice, why haven't I thought of that!? ;p). Mark and Donna gave him a shirt from Folded and Hung. Dale gave him a deflated Basketball so he can play in Singapore.

And from me, I gave Ed a black pinstriped coat from Oxygen. I was overly glad that Ed liked my gift. :)

Tagay tagay, sound trip, kwentuhan. After a while, Donna needed to go na so Mark and I drove her home. When we got back, Drey and Jem arrived.

Party continues! Everyone got drunk (I was actually a little tipsy even though I drank in moderation) and had fun. Che was also so drunk that she was seeing triples! She also got to kneel on dog piss! Hahaha! Nagulat din ako when she THREW my camera towards me to catch! Hoy Che! Hindi shock proof yung cam ko ah! Hahaha! ;p

Then finally, Ed delivered a speech to each and everyone. We'll miss you man!

Around 5:30am, we're all preparing to pack up. Ed's staying at Mark's house. Drey and Jem gone home. Chelips, Oninz, and Dale hitched a ride from me. Everyone went home happy, safe and sound.

On a side note, I was kinda tipsy and sleepy at the same time. After I dropped Oninz and Dale in Timog, I was off home. I didn't realize I was going a bit too fast... a little over a hundred!

My eyes were actually dozing off when I was around the Commonwealth. When I closed my eyes, I was in front of Diliman school. When I opened it, I was past Ever Gotesco na! Katakot! Hahaha!

Still made it home in one piece. ;p

Friday that's been

February 29. I finally met up with my two closest highschool friends, Verg and Richard. We watched Jumper in Mega Mall. I missed those two. It's seldom for the three of us to go out these days.

On topic with Jumper, it's an ok movie. I actually enjoyed it. Although it was incoherent at times, I still enjoyed the teleportation premise of the film. I was rooting for Samuel "Mothefuckin'" Jackson to kill the lead, though. Something from Anakin Skywalker is bugging me! LOL.

After watching, we finished around 8pm. I didn't bring my car since Verg already had his with him. Makikisabay nalang sana ako.

And then Che and Dale texted. Haha.

It was Che's friend's birthday so she decided to bring us along. Hindi na dapat ako sasama due to numerous reasons such as: I don't have money, pa-good shot kay mama, I don't have a car with me, and I have a medical checkup early the next day.

Eventually, I was convinced to go. I still hitched a ride from Verg. His lola had a terminal case of sickness. He dropped me over the party before he went back to the hospital.

Fiama Bar

The party was held at Fiama, a bar in Jupiter St., Makati. It was a nice club actually. If you'll ask me, I think it's more exclusive than Embassy. It reminded me of Ipanema (a bar in Eastwood), wherein people who go there are mainstays and already knows each other. So if you're one of those guys who go to clubs just to get to know people, you're better off with clubs like Basement, Embassy, or Alchemy.

Anywho, I still enjoyed the night. Although nagmamadali kami ni Ed umuwi (we're gone by 1:30am), we still had time to have fun. Che was in her usual bubbly self; Pilep is still sleepy inside a club; Dale and Kat are still their usual clubber selves. It was all fun. :)

I got home around 2am via a taxi cab. I had to wake up at 8am for my check-up. There was also supposed to be a gig in Tiendesitas. Drey's bro, Mandz, had a battle of the bands competition. Sadly, I ran out of moolah so I begged off. I texted Jem nalang that I couldn't come. :(

Too bad since I really wanted to go to Tiendesitas. Dale, by the way, spent the weekend at my house. Monster Hunter all the way! ;p

By the way, congrats to Dale for his promotion!
