Biglaan Gimmik 2007! ;p

Aptly titled "Biglaan Gimmik" in the sense that walang plano at biglaan talaga ang gimmik! LOL!

Thursday, I got to chat with Oninz in YM for a short period. He asked me if I want to go with them (he and Dale) tomorrow (Friday) in Greenhills. I told them I'll think about it. Text text nalang daw. So the same night, I texted Oninz na tell me kung tuloy and kung what time.

Friday morning, no texts whatsoever. It was lunch time and I went online. I asked Oninz: "Oi, tuloy pa ba?"

He told me: "Hindi pa nagrereply si Dale eh!"

After a while, out of boredom, I asked him: "Anu, tuloy pa rin tayo?"
Oninz replied: "Tara!"

Haha! That's what started it all! Then the next thing we know, we were texting everyone, asking them if they want to go to Greenhills! LOL. First to confirm was Ed, Myk, then Pilep and Che, and then Mark. Dom wasn't able to go, and ironically, Dale wasn't able to go too. Ironic since he was the one who started to make plans for this supposed gimmik! LOL! May dinner plans pala siya. Supposedly, he was planning to go to Greenhills in the morning! Eh hindi naman nagrereply so there was a miscommunication! Haha! ;p

Then yun, I picked up Oninz at the Q.Ave MRT station and then proceeded to Greenhills. Himala at hindi ganon karami ang tao ngayon. Getting a parking space was easier this time around. After getting there, Ed followed a little later. We ate in Le Ching, an old favorite of ours.

Eventually, Mark arrived with his lunch box! Haha! We decided to wait for the others in Timezone. Myk, arrived a little later. We went to Starbucks to pass the time, and chat for a while. Pilep and Che eventually arrived.

Mukhang matamlay talaga si Che the whole night. Nakakapanibago! Haha! She's still recovering from Dengue fever. Buti at hindi siya na-confine sa hospital when she got sick.

We all decided to have dinner in Gerry's Grill at the Promenade. We were also surprised to see Mariek seating at the table next to ours! Haha! Ayun, kwentuhan. Last time I saw Mariek, it was still last school year.

After eating, we were thinking about what to do next. We wanted to watch a movie pero film fest so everything was pinoy movies. Ok lang sakin, but the others didn't like the movies. Myk suggested Bowling in Ortigas, or KTV in Tomas Morato. It sounded great, pero hindi pwede si Ed gabihin because he still have work the next day (7am!). Pangit naman if we go through without Ed. Instead, we passed time nalang in Timezone (ulit!?!?!). Hahaha!

We went home after a while. I dropped them all off kasi late na rin. Hindi na rin safe. So yun, until the next "Biglaan" gimmik! Haha!

*Notable notes of the day*
-I really had a bad case of Diarrhea! I think it was the Spaghetti I ate earlier that day. I went to the CR two times in GH, then went at it again in Mark's house after I dropped him off. Haha.
-We saw Robert, Che's friend Inah's boyfriend. They were with us in the Puerto Galera trip. I think we forgot to mention it to Che.
-Che was sick so wala masyadong pictures! Hahaha! ;p
-I almost ran out of Gas. Buti nalang at may Petron malapit kina Che when I dropped her and Fifi off.
-There were some celebrity sightings! German Moreno (Kuya Germs) and Pilita Corrales. Che and I wanted to have a photo op with Kuya Germs pero nahiya kami!! Haha!
-Tekken frenzy. Even I got surprised. For some reason, almost everybody loves Tekken all of a sudden! Oninz is a good player now! Ed is also gaining leverage! Myk even beats me now! Pilep, he was always good in Tekken ever since I knew him. Hehe. And to think that I stopped playing Tekken for a while now, everyone's wiping the floor with me! ;( haha!
-Ed is planning to buy a PSP slim. We went around to find a good deal, and the best we got is 10,800 pesos... ALL-IN PACKAGE! I'm actually surprised! It IS a good deal! Dale is planning to get one too soon. Pilep just did recently. So, if you'll look at it, we all have PSPs except for Mark whom we're still convincing! Haha!

Bad Diarrhea

Speaking of a bad case of diarrhea (see Biglaan Gimmick post just above), I found this video from YouTube! LOL!

The Untitled Entry

I left the title "The Untitled Entry' because I'm not quite sure how to put this. A thought just came into me while I was mind wrestling with myself.

It all started when my mom and I are talking about the psychology of people. How different people react about something... and that it shows from what personality they have. After the talk, I started psychoanalyzing myself again (as usual). Usually when I'm in this kind of trance, I go back to my past memories and review them all again... now with all the knowledge of my current being.

Then something hit me. Something about the subject of 'adultery'.

Adultery, I hate adultery! I LOATHE adultery! So it follows that I hate adulterers (homewreckers, kabit, kerida!). Arguably, it might be my most hated trait from some people. I mean, why would you go for someone na may asawa at pamilya, eh marami namang iba. Right?! It's like being selfish... you steal the guy/girl from his/her family just because you "love" (or "like") the person so much. Well, guess what?! Hindi lang yung asawa yung tinapakan mo, kung hindi pati yung (mga) anak. Nakakainis diba!?

Now, back to my psychoanalysis. So what is this thing that "disturbed" me about adultery?

Well here, I'll share something. Bear with me as I refresh a particular memory from my childhood...

I remember I was talking to my father. As a kid, I usually ask him questions when I'm curious about something. My dad is one of my greatest mentor. He taught me about a lot of things, and he shared with me a lot of his memories in his life. And he never backs down from my questions.

The one time, I asked him: "Pa, bakit maraming tao ang mahilig sa sex?".

(Hahahaha! Funny now, but as a kid I was curious back then. ;p)

He answered (of course with his trademark sense of humor and half-joke/half-serious answer): "Kasi masarap eh! Maiintindihan mo pag laki mo anak."

Sabi ko, "Huuuh!? Kadiri naman yun eh!"

Hahaha! Barubal noh! Haha! But that's my dad. He never backs out from my questions. He has this "macho" humor. Also, he grew up with this "macho mentality" of Pinoy men who think that 'guys should have more than one woman' para masabing "cool ka!" or "macho ka!". Laking probinsya kasi kaya naging ganun yung mentality niya! Hehe.

Anyways, now that I'm older... naisip ko: "Onga noh, tama nga ang dad ko! Masarap nga!" (hahaha!)

Hahaha! That was a funny (and true) experience. I'm actually amazed that I remember these things when I dig up my memories. ;p

But now, a more serious thought has come knocking on my mind. My curiosity is kicking in again, but now in a more serious and mature topic. These questions suddenly came flooding my mind:

"Bakit hindi makuntento ang isang lalake/babae sa kanilang asawa?"

"Bakit naghahanap pa sila ng iba?"

"Ganun ba talaga? Hindi ba talaga posible na isa lang ang mahalin? Hindi ba talaga kaya?"

"Hahanap at hahanap ka ba talaga ng iba?"

And sadly, no one gets to answer my questions this time around. My dad has speech impairment because of his stroke. And now, I'm no longer the 11 year old boy. I'm a young man at the age of 24, asking this questions from myself.

Then it hit me. "What if I asked my dad these questions years ago? What would he have answered?". I wouldn't really know.

But then again, I have an idea on what he would've said. But this is just my idea, because we really don't know for sure on what my dad would've answered. My dad is no saint. He was a great father, but I can't say that he was a perfect husband.

So yeah, I had an idea on what he would've said.

Now, this got me: If my dad proved me wrong about my idea of sex when I was a kid, could he prove me wrong about the case of 'adultery' again?

Natatakot ako because it left me with this thought:

When I get to marry (if ever) someone in the future, can I stay faithful? Or would my dad prove me wrong again... and become the very entity of what I hate?

I love my dad. He just grew up with the old typical "macho upbringing" that plagues our men-dominated society. I'm not blaming my grand father either, because his father might've brought him up the same way. And I just have to thank my mother for opening my eyes and bringing me up with a more "modern", and 'appropriate', way of looking at society.

****That's what I get for psychoanalyzing myself. Fil and his deep, self-thoughts. I'm a nutjob waiting to happen.****

Kobe: Vol. Youngest to 20K Points

Kobe Bryant becomes the youngest player to reach 20,000 points. He did it in today's game against the NY Knicks when he scored a 3 pointer in the opening minute of the third quarter. The only other players who reached 20K points before turning 30 years old are Michael Jordan (29 yrs, 326 days) and Wilt Chamberlain (29 yrs, 134 days). Kobe was 29 years and 122 days.

In other Kobe news, it's great to see Kobe scoring 39 points, and have 11 rebounds with 8 assists. He was under a slump recently, scoring under 20 points in each of his past four games. Probably the effects of the groin injury he's playing through with.

Also, Kobe is seen sporting his new Nike shoes: the Air Zoom Kobe III. My initial impression?! FUGLY (fucking ugly!). I dunno... well, ok.. maybe not fugly. The first time I saw the shoes months before during development, I can say that it's fugly. But after seeing Kobe wear those, it kinda looks good. I think it's one of those shoes that only looks great when someone wears it.

Maureen

Have I ever mentioned that Maureen Larrazabal is our next door neighbor? Every holidays like Christmas or Halloween, they seem to hold a party in their house. Lots of loud music and people chattering. The sad part is that my room is at the side where their house is. So if there's someone in our house who's not gonna get sleep, it's me. LOL! ;p

Tonight is no different. They seem to be holding their Christmas party right now. I got no other choice but to go into my room and just play my PSP, watch a DVD, or play music full blast. Hehe. It's all cool though.

Don't get me wrong. Maureen and company are actually nice neighbors. They even gave us a white wine earlier this day, telling in us advance na they're gonna hold a party and sorry nalang sa noise/inconvenience. I also remember last year when they gave us a full plate of Sushi (which I alone devoured!) when they held a Halloween party. :)

It's actually courteous in their part to actually do this. And I like courteous people. Plus, hindi naman madalas yung parties nila, so ok lang talaga. But yun nga, for tonight... looks like I'm gonna be sleepless! Haha! ;p

Christmas Spirit-- lacking

I was surprised when I looked at the date today. December 23! Wow! It will be Christmas eve by tomorrow night! And the most surprising thing is that I didn't even realize it's the 23rd already. Talk about Christmas spirit. Or at least, the lack of it.

To be honest, I've never really felt any form of Christmas spirit in these past few years, more so this year. I remember when I was a kid, Christmas was really special in a way that no matter how many (or grave) your problems are, you still feel jolly come Christmas time.

Now, it feels as if Christmas is overrated. It's just like any ordinary time of the year, except with all the gifts and all.

I guess it's part of growing up. Or is it? :(

WOW!!!!

I just received an email earlier today. Not just a simple email, but a message from the admin of a blog that I frequent to. And this is not just a simple blog, but a blog which won the 2007 Philippines Best Entertainment Blog! And guess what? He's asking me to be a guest contributer/writer!

Wow! Just wow! ;p

Sorry, mababa lang kaligayahan ko ah! Haha! Frustrated writer/journalist kasi eh. Just the thought of writing about something that the whole Filipino Internet community gets to read got me very excited! Hahaha! ;p

Enchanted Kingdom w/ SINS!

Finally, the Enchanted Kingdom gimmick has pushed through! Haha! It was initially Che's class field trip last month, but it was postponed because of the storm. Since the tickets were already paid for, we still pushed it through. It was primarily Che's barkada's, SINS, gimmick. SINS are: Che, Patch, Joy, and Kat. And then there's Pilep, me, and Jessel (Patch's boyfriend) tagging along.

We met up in Mega Mall where SINS picked up us boys. We reached EK around 12-1pm na. Wala naman traffic. It was hot by the way, ang lakas ng araw! But that didn't stop us from the rides! Haha!

We went first for the Realto, which featured Spongebob. We hated it, by the way. And I don't know if they took me seriously when I told them na nahilo ako dun sa Realto. I really did! Haha! I dunno why... maybe because of the "vertigo"-like effect of that ride with the accompanying Spongebob graphics. That, or the movie really sucked! Haha.

Anyways, up next was the 4d ride featuring Pirates! Now this, I truly enjoyed! Haha! It was actually my first time riding it. Although we waited for 30 minutes in queue, I can say that it's definitely worth it. You get to wear 3d glasses so that the movie would look realistic. It was called 4d because of the added element like water and air which the ride really throws at you. Like when in the movie, the character got tossed into the water, a real spray of water would spurt out from the seat and unto your face! Hahaha!

After those, we went for the real rides. Up first was the Flying Fiesta. It was fun but my motion sickness was already kicking in. After that, we went for the Carousel. Haha! Trip lang, and for the sake of cam whoring! LOL!

Up next was Anchor's Away, which I really didn't want to ride. They eventually convinced me though, and so we queued up for a REALLY long line! Grabe! Dun naubos ang oras! Haha! It was fun though when it was our turn. Kat, beside me, was really scared. Kapit na kapit! Haha! Joy, on the ship's end, was the exact opposite! She enjoyed it, and was even able to take pics during the whole duration of the ride! Hahaha!

Finally, we started queuing up for Log Jam... but the line was soooo long! Parang Wowowee, man! Hahaha! And besides, Pilep has a party to attend to in Katipunan so we all decided to go home na. Sayang lang at hindi na naman nasakyan yung Ferris Wheel and Rio Grande. Pero enjoy pa rin, nonetheless! :)

When I got home, I was dead tired! Shower then tulog. End of story! LOL. ;p

And oh, the camwhoring was omnipresent all throughout. Hindi mawawala yun as long as Che is around! Hahaha! ;p

***Initially, when Oninz and Ed backed out, I wanted to back out too since naisip ko na baka ma-OP ako dun. I mean, yeah there's Philippe pero obviously he's busy with Che (and his PSP! hahaha!). And yeah, there's also Kat pero iba pa rin yung may constant (Bakal) friend ako. Hehehe.

Surprisingly, hindi ako na-OP. Che's friends are really great company. They made me felt welcome right from the start, and I really had a great time with them. :)

RIP Ace Vergel

While pooping at the shit hole, I was surprised after reading about the death of Pinoy film (and real life) bad boy Ace Vergel! He suffered a heart attack. He was 55 years old.

It's a shame 'cause he's one those Filipino actors I truly admire. His work in the Carlo J. Caparas film, Pieta, is arguably one of the finest performances I've seen in a Filipino movie... and definitely one of my favorites. His anti-hero character in Pieta is almost comparable as those roles like Tony Montana from Scarface.

I remember a portion in Pieta wherein Ace Vergel's character's mentor (of crime) raped his mother. For revenge, he raped his mentor's daughter (which happened to be his childhood friend) and impregnating her, just to bring out the old man and kill him! Baaaaaaaaad!

And the movie was good because it never glorified his evil character. No, it wasn't one of those movies wherein the anti-hero repents at the end, turning to the side of good. In this movie's finale, he went after his (rape) love child so he could have a successor for his crime organization. It climaxed into a fight to the death wherein Ace's character got killed in a bloody shootout, with his mother crying but nonetheless agreeing that it's better off this way. Great movie and a must watch for movie buffs.

One final hurray for the original bad boy! RIP Ace!

Proposal Daisakusen

Cast: Yamashita Tomohisa, Nagasawa Masami
Screenwriter: Kaneko Shigeki
Producers: Takiyama Madoka, Sansao Reiko
Director: Narita Takeshi
Music: Yoshikawa Kei
Episodes: 11

I'm kinda lazy trying to write a full review or what. Just wanna recommend watching Proposal Daisakusen. This is a Japanese Drama about a guy, Ken, who's attending the wedding of her childhood friend and true love, Rei. Of course, there is regret in Ken as he sees Rei marrying another guy instead of him. This catches the attention of a church fairy who then gives Ken the power to go back in time and (try) to change the future. What ensues is Ken traveling back to memorable phases in his and Rei's life and change whatever he did wrong (or do what he should've done).

I am a big fan of time travel, so this drama appealed to me a lot. Besides, it also have a good premise. Like, thinking about "the one who got away". The person who you really love but never really ended up with. Of course there is regret and questions to yourself like "what if I've been nicer?" or "what if I've proposed earlier?". This drama is all about that. Ken's journey to re-live the past and try to change it.

Side note: I don't know if it's just me but the main lead has an uncanny resemblance to Rustom Padilla (hahaha!), and the female lead looks a little bit like Katrina Halili. Just my opinion anyway, see it for yourself! Haha.*

**You can watch this in Veoh, YouTube, or crunchyroll.
***The trailer is fan made 'cause I can't find any official ones. Credit to the maker.

tagaytay overheat

Wow, second time this year we suffered an overheat in Tagaytay.

My dad's favorite cousin, Tito Oscar, came here in Manila from Cebu to fix his US immigration papers in the US Embassy. He came over the weekend to stay with us and spend time with my dad. Since he's leaving for the States, we decided to take him to Tagaytay yesterday kasi hindi pa raw siya nakakapunta.

By the time we were in Tagaytay, it happened. The car suffered an overheat. I knew there was something wrong with that Honda. Thankfully, nagbaon ako ng dalawang 1.5 water bottles. Funny part was, I was filling it with water when suddenly, the pressure gushed the water back! Tumalsik sa akin! Basang basa tuloy yung shirt ko! Naka-shades pa ako eh! Hahaha! Sabay tingin kung may nakakita, when I realized I was on the side of the road so everybody passing by saw it! Haha! Anyways, glad there was a Shell station nearby. Filled the car with water, as well as some coolant.

After that, we had lunch at Max Chicken... then proceeded to Sky Palace for the final tour of my Uncle. I wasn't feeling well since Saturday night, and I just forced myself to get up that day. Just imagine how tired I was after the day was over. ;p

This is the second time this year that we had an overheat in Tagaytay. The first time, we were on the way home and was somewhere between Tagaytay and Laguna. Nangapit-bahay pa ako para lang sa tubig! Haha!

skinny jeans

I tried on my first pair of skinny jeans the other night. The look was OK. I actually refrain from wearing skinny jeans because of the thought that it'll look bad on me 'cause of my fat thighs. It looked pretty nicely anyway. Kulang lang sa butt part. Haha!

There was one big problem though. The fit! I must say, it's one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever put on! There's that feeling like someone is grabbing you by the balls! Haha! I tried on a size 32 (I'm a size 31), and it's still very tight on the crotch area!

Skinny jeans might be stylish or in fashion right now, but I must say that wearing it is definitely not healthy! Haha! And besides, I won't pay for that. My sister only made me fit it kasi she's planning to give it to me as a Christmas present! ;p

Week Overview

Monday
Richard and I watched Hitman in Shangrila. The movie was ok. Not bad, not great either.
For some reasons, Richard really liked Tim Olyphant as Agent 47. I, on the other hand, laugh at every scene where Olyphant's face is zoomed in. Richard somehow thinks Olyphant looks bad ass. I think Olyphant looks like a giant baby. LOL. It's called different opinions, ladies and gentlemen.

Wednesday
I consulted someone about my goddamned college thesis. Still no word, or paramdams, from my thesis mates. I'm thinking of having a tattoo on the back of my head (ala Agent 47) that says: "Walang sisihan!"

Maybe in alibata! Hahaha! Damn.

Thursday
Now this day is worth blogging, really. It started with Che, Pilep's girlfriend (and my chismis buddy and comment buddy! LOL), asking me as early as Monday (I think) if I want to go to a DLSU party with her since Pilep is busy. I said yes, of course (free party eh! haha!). Forward to Thursday, and then the Trillanes brouhaha happened! With all the troubles in Makati, I texted Che if tuloy pa yung lakad. She said, "yes tuloy pa". Nakakahiya raw mag-back out since VIP tickets raw yun sabi nung promoter ng party. Siyempre, go pa rin ako kasi naka-oo na ako kay Che. Nakakahiya naman mag back out. So there I was, on my way to Mall of Asia (our meeting place since the party will be at World Trade, just near MOA), when my mother called me: "Uy, may curfew!"

By the time I reached MOA, Che texted me: "Fil, may bad news! Canceled daw sabi ni Erikson!" Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh! Hahaha! I met Che nalang in MOA. We're supposed to eat dinner when it was announced na the mall will close at 9pm! Badtrip. We decided to go home early nalang, to avoid getting stranded. This is where it got tricky. Wala nang masakyan! As in agawan na, mother of rush hours! What I did was take a public bus on route to Crossing (the best I can get)! When I got to Crossing, I got on another bus, now towards Fairview na! Hassle! Haha! I finally got home around a little before 12am na! Haha! The last time I even rode a public bus because of rush hour is when I was still a high school student in Lourdes! Haha! All the while in the trip, I was telling myself: "Should've brought a car, should've brought a car!" The thing is, I would've. Kaso coding! Waaah! Hahaha!

It was a nice experience though. It was great reliving the hassle days of trying to go home with all means necessary. Haha! Also, Che was very apologetic, na-hassle daw kasi ako. Honestly, she shouldn't have anything to be sorry with. Siya rin naman kasi na-hassle din. And she was also having one hell of a day too, she told me. So yun. Ok lang sakin yun.

Thoughts about Trillanes: I respect the man and all, with all he's trying to do... but what the hell is with him and hotels?! Does he have a fetish with raiding hotels?! LOL!

Friday
Trinoma night with the barx! Holiday so we set a gimik. Dinner then movie night raw. So yun, I left the house by 7pm (now with a car kasi na-phobia na ako sa MOA! haha!). My usual technique when parking in Trinoma is going straight to the rooftop parking (north parking lot) since it never failed to give me a parking slot. Guess what!? Puno hanggang rooftop! As in may mga nag-double parking na! I kept circling around for like 30 minutes?! I finally found an area where I got there by accident. I didn't even know if it was a parking space, basta walang nakaparada and open space siya so I parked! Hahaha!

Inside, I met up with the rest. There was Pilep, Che, Dale, NiƱo, and Ed. I also saw Rica in the cinema, by the way. She was there with her friends to watch a movie. I was actually surprised. Someone called my name, and when I turned... it was Rix! It's been a long time since I last saw her (5 months or more?) that when I turned to look at her, I actually forgot her name. Minukaan ko pa nga eh! Haha! When I embraced her, that's when it sank in: "Si Rica!!!". Hahahahaha! Grabe, ulyanin na ako! Hehe!

After Ed arrived, we went for dinner in Krocodile Grill. Che and Pilep treated me to dinner kasi nga na-guilty si Che na hindi natuloy yung party the other night. Haha! While waiting for the food, Dale accompanied me to the parking lot. Naiilang kasi ako sa parking space ko, so I moved the car to a new parking space. Hahaha!

After having dinner, it's movie time. The dilemma was though, ayaw na nila manuod after telling them that Hitman was not that great. Instead, nag-Timezone nalang kami! Haha! We went for Starbucks afterwards. It was 1am when we decided to go home. Picture taking in the now empty parking lot! Haha! I also kept asking them where I will drop them off, eh ang kulit... I ended up dropping ALL OF THEM on their respective houses! Haha! Wala na rin namang traffic so ok lang sa gas. It was a fun night. I wanted to watch a movie though! Haha!

Saturday
I accompanied my mom and my sis to watch One More Chance! Hahaha! It was actually good, to be honest. I actually enjoyed it better than Hitman! LOL!
