a wretched week...

There are factors to ruin one's week. In my case, there are 3 things (so far!) that ruined this week:

1. My broken tooth!
While I was eating lunch last Monday, I suddenly felt a gap between my teeth. When I looked at the mirror, much to my surprise (and horror), a part of one my front tooth is gone! How or why, I do not know! I quickly texted friends and asked them about it! To think that I have to go out that day to pay my remaining tuition balance in Trinity College! Arrrrggghh. I tried to take pictures to make fun of myself, but when I saw the pics, it wasn't funny at all... it was horrible!!!

2. The BIG RAIN (Tuesday night)
The plan was, we were going to Duty Free because my mom just got back from Indonesia. My dad wanted to come with us so the arrangement was, after my mom's office hours, she'll go back home to fetch my sister and my dad. I, on the other hand, was to go to Trinity College again... after which I will go to my mom's office. Since I finished up late, I decided to call my mom and tell her that I'll go home nalang para dun nalang mag-kitakita. She SAID "Ok". So when I got to Batasan, the BIG rain dropped (which flooded some of the areas in Metro Manila)! I stayed for almost 30 minutes on one corner just to let the rain pass. It wasn't stopping, and I had to get home because they might be waiting for me. So sumugod na ako sa ulan! When I got home, guess what! Hindi pala tuloy yung lakad! And no one even told me! Remember I called my mom earlier on her cellphone, well she didn't even said a thing about the sudden change of plans! That was enough to me make lose my temper! I was so wet, cold, and drenched with water... but my head was hot as hell!!! It's ok now between my mom and me. It was a simple misunderstanding and she apologized.

3. The stupid TRINITY COLLEGE accounting/registar system
Since I cross-enrolled in Trinity College, I need a certification from them that I did study there. So that's what my target was, that day. I went there, missing a part of my front tooth and all, thinking that it will only take a short time. Much to my surprise, the line was loooooooonnnngggg!!! It happens that it was enrollment time for the Trinitians! So I queued up at the end of the long line... until I finally got to the cashier after 3 hours! Thinking about those guys who let their friends make "singit" to the line just makes me mad! "There, I paid my balance!", I said to myself. Off I go to the registrar! When I got there, the woman told me that I need to fill up a form... then I have to pay in the CASHIER!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!! Bullshit! So I just went out of the school premises before cursing anyone of those school employees! I decided to just come back the next day.

So, Tuesday came and there I am again. Still missing a part of my tooth and all. I, again, queued up in another looooonnnnggg line of enrollees. After paying up for the form, I asked the cashier if I needed to accomplish anything pa. She told me ok na raw! I finished this time by 5:30pm. I ran up fast to the registrar... and much to my annoyance, IT WAS ALREADY CLOSED! "Putangina! Babalik na naman ako bukas!", I exclaimed! I don't care whoever heard it, I was pissed! Since it was late, I hurried back home. Like I've said, this is the day when we're supposed to go to Duty Free! And then the rain fell and all... and you know the rest!

Now, today, it is Wednesday! I told myself, third time's the charm! At least this time I won't have to line up in the cashier's booth, I thought. When I gave the woman employee my form, she told me: "Kulang ng pirma!" Punyeta! Eh sabi sakin nung cashier ok na raw at bumalik na raw ako sa registrar! Much to my relief, the woman told me that I only need to go to the Accounting office! A big sigh of relief! When I got to the accounting, she delivered the BIGGEST punchline of this whole sick joke! After one week pa raw pwede since I only paid my balance this Monday with a bank check! Eh putangina naman, dapat sinabi na nila lahat yun nung Monday pa lang di ba!?

So I went back to the registrar to ask the lady if she can process my certification na para isahan nalang since I had to wait for a week before I can come back! I pleaded her and told her I was in here for three days straight just to accomplish this. Aba! Nagtanong pa kung bakit raw ako pabalik balik! Gusto pa atang makipag kwentuhan! Mukhang naaliw ata sa akin kasi mukha na akong kawawa! Bwiset! And since I'm bungi (missing a tooth) right now, I'm not in the mood to speak up since I don't want to catch anyone's attention because of my tooth! She told me that she can't do anything about it since the clearance is really needed, specially in my case whose a cross-enrollee. Another failure.

Off I go with my mouth covered. I went to the gym instead and took out my frustration there. I just hope my workout would ready me for the upcoming body baring this Saturday when we go to Club Manila East for a day of swimming with my college barkadas! Haaay! I just hope there won't be a "reason number four" here tomorrow after I go to the dentist to fix my tooth! ;p

9 Waves, San Mateo

Last Friday, I was off to 9 Waves in San Mateo. I was at the gym when Apple (Taberna) texted me, asking if I want to go swimming with them. I was worried first because I didn't know where 9 Waves was. I thought it was far. Much to my surprise, it was only in San Mateo! Haha! I eventually said yes because I wanted to go swimming too... and to think that it was summer and it was HOT. I only had one condition though, I will go there after I finished watching "Maging Sino Ka 'Man" which had it's season finale! Haha!

So after watching Eli (John Lloyd Cruz) coming back from the dead (he was 'flatlined' for God's sake, reviving after Bea's tears fell! Gawd!) and the introduction of Osang and Angelica (season 2! Yay!), I'm off to 9 Waves. Grabe, umuulan! Ang lamig kaya! I was surprised how close 9 Waves was, it only took me a 5-minute drive from home. After paying up in the front desk and meeting Anthony, we proceeded to go to the room and meet up with the rest.

It was great meeting my batch mates again. There was Mardan, Bless, Apple, Jam, Anthony, Barbo, and Cheska (with her boy friend). After some time of (cold) night swimming, we then retired to the room. Nagutom sila so Mardan and I drove to the nearest Burger Machine, which was the only food store open, and bought a couple of burgers. I, on the other hand, was so tired that I fell asleep after taking a bath. I forgot to bring an extra underwear so they were teasing me! Haha!

We all then woke up at around 6am when we decided to check out. I gave them a ride to Apple's house, and then proceeded to go home. We were supposed to watch a movie in Trinoma later that day but I was so tired so I begged off. I then spent the whole day sleeping. ;p

life in a 'music box'

There's this one song that I really really like for the moment. The song is entitled 'MusicBox'. This is from Regina Spektor, an artist I just found out about. Try her other songs! She's great and I looove her! Well anyways, back to the topic. I want to share the song to all of you.
*Push play after the play list loads.

**********************************************************
MusicBox by Regina Spektor

Life inside the music box ain't easy
The mallets hit
The gears are always turning
And everyone inside the mechanism
Is yearning to get out
And sing another melody completely
So different from the one they're always singing
I close my eyes and think that I have found me
But then I feel mortality surround me
I want to sing another melody
So different from the one I always sing
but when I do the dishes
I run the water very very very hot
And then I fill the sink to the top with bubbles of soap
And then I set all the bottle caps I own afloat
And it's the greatest voyage in the history of plastic
And then I slip my hands in and start to make waves
And then I dip my tongue in and take a taste
It tastes like soap but it doesn't really taste like soap
And then I lower in my whole mouth and take a gulp
And start to feel mortality surround me
I close my eyes and think that I have found me
But life inside the music box ain't easy
The mallets hit
The gears are always turning
And every one inside the mechanism
Is yearning to get out
And sing another melody completely
Is yearning to get out
Is yearning to get out
Is yearning to get out

**********************************************************

Hated it?! C'mon, play it again. Still don't like it? Give it another round. I'll assure you it'll grow on you. :) I love the song because of how I can relate to it at this point of my life. The song talks about how redundant it gets to live a life doing things routinely... doing almost always the exact same thing.

Hence the title, 'MusicBox'. Living in a music box goes on the same thing like playing the same old song again and again, all while going round and round at the same time. Eventually you'll get tired and yearn to get out! This is the exact same feeling that I have right now. I feel that so far in my life, I almost always do the exact same things. Why? Maybe I was scared to try something new... or maybe because I got used to it.

Well, I'm tired of it. I'm 23 and I'm finished with my obligations. I want to try new things. I've always been like that, wanting to try something new but always hold back at the last minute. Curiosity might have killed the cat, but it's a life rather not living if I'll be confined in doing the same thing again and again. It's time for me to get out of my own 'Music Box', and sing another melody completely. :)

One Great Weekend!

Wow! Now I know what I've been missing for a whole year of NO GIMMICK and ALL THESIS (which ended up with nothing by the way! all those hard work! for nothing!) Last weekend was a testament that I NEED to have fun! Let me recap my weekend.

SATURDAY - Niño's Celebration! (Me, Dale, Ed, Niño, Pilep, Mark, Cheryl, Madonna)

Dale and I were supposed to meet up in Gateway, Cubao para sabay kami pupunta sa house ni Phillippe (where the party will take place). Eh may misunderstanding sa text conversation namin, Dale thought I was asking him to go earlier because I will be late! Yari since I don't know how to go to Pilep's alone! Dale told me the directions so I still went! I rode the LRT! And to think that I hardly rode the LRT! It was like only the 6th time in my whole life that I used the LRT! Imagine that. Maganda pala.. maluwag at malamig rin pala yung aircon.

When I got there, I was so happy to see all these people again! I LOVE them! So ayun, we went up to Pilep's rooftop balcony and celebrated! Sagot lahat ni Niño! The beer was overflowing! The most surprising thing was THERE WAS A LOT OF FOOD/PULUTAN! We ordered two family sized pizza from Pizza Hut, and since Mark has a Palm Card... we had FOUR family sized pizza! On top of that, they bought pulutan from BALIWAG LECHON! As in ang dami, I think we didn't get to finish it! The beer though was a different story... ubos! Lakas ba naman uminom ni Cheryl (Pilep's girl). Silang dalawa ni Ed yung may pinaka-maraming nainom, may competition ba naman. Kung sino raw sumuko, "BADDIIIINNNGGGGG!!!!!" Hahahaha!

It was so much fun! As in mas ok pa kaysa dun sa Makati gimmick weeks ago! Here, we had a an almost unlimited supply of beer, and large amount of food! Videoke pa! Pero of all these, what I enjoyed the most is the company of my friends. I love these people and I will always cherish them! So to all of them, a big thank you! But the biggest THANK YOU is for Niño who paid for all these, and to Pilep who was the owner of the house/host of the night who made it all happen! Thanks for another wondrous event. I ended up going home around 5am! Good luck sa akin kasi may lalakarin ako the next day (Sunday)!

SUNDAY - Trip to Banawe (Manila), Joyride (Manila to Bulacan, and back), and the annoying Stupid One-arm Tan!!!

So ayun, planned na kasi yung lakad ko nung Sunday. The plan was, as early as 7am, I'll go to Banawe (the haven for all things related to cars) to buy a side mirror for my car, a '96 Toyota Corolla GLI. Nanakawan kasi ako ng side mirrors (and sa mismong tabi lang ng bakod namin! kapal!) dati so pinalitan... eh yung pinalit, low class.. while my mom's office driver was using the car, the right mirror fell on the road! So wala na akong side mirror sa right side. So I planned to go to Banawe to buy one (hopefully, orig kaso nenok rin! Who knows, maybe it's the same exact mirror that was stolen from me! Haha!)

Because of the recent booze celebration that took place the night before, I ended up going home at around 5am, and DRUNK! Pinilit kong bumangon! When I was up, grabe ang sakit ng ulo ko! Hangover! I still went though! Hehe! When I reached Banawe, there was this guy offering up some tints. I told him: "Meron ba kayong side mirror?!" He told me: "Meron... bigay ko sa inyo boss p500.. orig!" In which I replied: "Ang mahal!" After a session of deal or no deal with the guy, we ended up with a nice deal! I will pay p1,200 for the side mirror, AND a TINT! My tint before was so ugly, you can puke just by looking at it! Nag bubbles na kasi yung tint ko dati kaya it was so hard looking through the mirror! And besides, plan ko na rin talaga dati na magpalagay ng bagong tint! ;p

So the Banawe guys did their job while I sat there watching for like two hours. I swear these guys really know their stuff. What was amusing was marami sila... and some of them are offering different services: car cleaning, rubber support (pudpod na raw kasi ung akin), car chargers, etc! Ang kukulit! Hehe!

When it was over, ang ganda na! Kung baga sa looks rating, kung dating -3 yung itsura nung Corolla, naging 4/10 na! Haha! But seriously, it looked really BETTER. I chose a black tint, but not the darkest one. Nice! :)

So off I go and I bid the guys goodbye! When I tried to turn on my engine, IT WON'T!!! It happens na while the guys were putting on the tints, they asked me to turn on the engine para mababa nila yung windows since the car has power windows! Shit! So I asked them to push! Hahaha! Tumakbo naman and once again, I thanked them! Off I go! The next series of events caused the Stupid One-Armed tan so read on carefully! ;p

So ayun nga, my car battery was discharged. I went on but decided to turn off the aircon so my battery will charge up again. I BROUGHT DOWN MY WINDOWS, specially my side of the car, since it was H-O-T! I told myself, "why not go joy riding!?" So I did... ikot around Manila, sa mga maliliit na sulok sulok, then I reached Bulacan much to my surprise! Don't ask me, BOBO rin talaga ako sa directions! Haha! This one town in Bulacan, Meycuayan... grabe, may isang part dun na sobrang baha! As in above the ankle yung taas nung baha! Kinabahan nga ako kasi natandaan kong na-discharge yung battery ko a while back, then susulong ako sa baha! Thankfully, I got through! ;p

So I went on with the joy ride. Sarap ng view! I was really enjoying these new places that I'm not really familiar with. Really nice view since MY WINDOWS ARE DOWN. After a while, I told myself I was tired already. Wala pa akong tulog eh. So I decided to look for an exit to the highway para mabilis na yung biyahe. My God, those damn signs are misleading! There was this one sign: "Highway Exit - 1 KM". So I looked eagerly for the exit para mag highway na ako... langya wala! I went on ahead and even reached SM Marilao! Malaki rin pala! Hehe! After another town, I found an exit to MacArthur Highway! Wow, and that freaking toll gate cost me p67 for the exit! Well, it was worth it... ang bilis ng drive ko sa highway... ang sarap ng hangin lalo na at NAKABABA YUNG WINDOWS ko! I took the route towards SM NORTH so nadaanan ko yung TRINOMA. Open na pala. I'll try to go there next week! :)

Eventually, I reached home around 3pm. I ate lunch, and after, I decided to take a bath! When I removed my shirt, GRABE!!!! THE ONE-ARM TAN!!!! My LEFT-ARM had a TAN!!! Remember, sa sobrang takot kong baka tumirik ako, I never opened the air con the whole trip. So that means my CAR WINDOWS WERE ALL DOWN THE WHOLE TIME. Since my left arm was exposed to the sun the whole time, nag-TAN!! It looked pretty stupid since I had shirt on, the exposed part was obviously the only part that was TANNED! Kitang kita yung TAN-line which was REALLY STRAIGHT! Tapos halos 1/4 lang ng arm yung affected, which makes it more eye-catching! As in ang laki ng difference ng color! Parang ni-spraypaint yung arm ko! I never imagined that the sun was THAT strong! Badtrip! ;p

Believe me, this photo doesn't do justice to the Stupid One-Arm Tan!

CONCLUSION
I really loved this weekend. Masaya talaga sobra. I enjoyed the party and the company of my friends. I also enjoyed the joy ride. The only moral lesson is that, next time, wear a sunblock! ;p

slow connection > no connection!

Damn right! Uber slow internet connection is better than no connection at all! I'm on a prepaid card right now because my goddamn PLDT dsl connection is fucking up again! It's almost like five days now that it's been like this! Makes me wanna go to the PLDT office and slap each and every person there!

sorry

We're the the worst of enemies before, with all your venomous words about me. Then it turned out we'd become the best of friends later. I haven't seen you nor talk to you for over five years now. The last thing I want to happen is to lose the little something that we used to have. The remnants of the past. I'm sorry for all the things I've told you in that email the past week. I'm sorry, but that's me being true to myself. It's just that I was shocked with all the things you had to reveal. You could have told me earlier. I know I don't have the right to react like I did, but I know you'd understand right? You're so far away from here but you've always had a place in my heart. I knew I've hurt you with all those harsh words. All I ask now is your forgiveness. I'm writing this up because you're one of the handful few to go to this place. But with all of what I've said to you, I have the feeling you won't even come to this place again. But I'm hoping that you will, and in turn see this post, and eventually forgive me. I'm sorry my friend. That's all I can say now... no hugs, no kisses.. only a sincere apology... mainly because we're miles apart. I wish you all the best in life... and congratulations.

one big saturday

Yesterday was great! It was a movie day and night out with great friends! The morning, I was with Richard and Verge in SM Megamall to watch Spiderman 3. After that, Niño and I met up where we proceeded to go to Greenhills to canvass PSPs. We then went to Greenbelt, Makati to go and meet up with the rest of the gang (Bakal Soc and company!) to have dinner in Bubba Gump and go to a bar to drink and unwind. It was a great day, and if you'll let me, I'll elaborate the whole story! Haha!

SPIDERMAN 3 with Richard and Verge
The morning, I was still in bed when a loud, thundering noise was heard from the outside! It was Verge's Honda Civic's souped up engine! Walang hiya, pwedeng gawing alarm clock yun ah! So I let Verge in and we had breakfast here in my house. After that, we went to Richard's house in Kapitolyo, Pasig. After pummeling Richard in a game of NBA 2k7 in his XBOX 360, we decided to go to SM Megamall. We almost spent 30 minutes looking for a parking space! We didn't realize that there was a huge mall sale so the parking lot was jam packed! After strolling around, we went to the cinema to finally go and watch Spiderman 3.

The movie was alright. It wasn't as bad as some fan boys have said. It was ok but not as great as Spiderman 2. I felt that there wasn't much character development even for a whooping 2 hours and a half screening time. This maybe because of the fact that they crammed all 3 villains in one movie, balancing screen time. One of my favorite characters, Venom, didn't even have more than 30 minutes of screen time! Sucks! But at least, the bottom line is, its still an ok movie. Not much a disappointment as I was expecting it to be.

After the movie, me and the boys went to Mexicali to go and munch on some burritos. On the way, I saw the new Kobe Bryant Nike shoes which forced my jaw to drop! I even took a picture of it! Ganda! When Niño texted me that he was out of the office, I went and met up with him in front of Toy Kingdom. I bid my Lourdes home boys goodbye and went with Niño in Greenhills to canvass Sony PSP price lists.

GREENHILLS with Niño
In Greenhills, we first went to the newly developed Viramall. The new look is so modern and more of a mall-type look. Personally, I much preferred the old Viramall where it looked so seedy and dirty. It gave me the impression that since the place looked like a seedy "pirates haven", everything was so cheap and affordable. The much cleaner look gave me the impression that everything was expensive, and that making "tawad" with the prices is not allowed (or nakakahiya! hahaha!). The cheapest deal we got in Viramall was 14,500php. We then proceeded to Shoppesville para maghanap ng girls, este, ng PSPs. Hehe. We finally got a deal as low as 13500php!!! It's in that store with the Ink for Less banner! Yahoo! As soon as I get my hands on some dough, I'm gonna buy my PSP! By 6:30pm, we're already done in Greenhills. Niño and I proceeded to go to Makati via MRT. By 7pm, we're already in Glorietta but the rest of the gang is still inside the movie house. Naglaro muna kami ng Tekken Tag ni Niño sa Time Zone. Then after some time of waiting, Niño realized the unthinkable... he forgot that the meeting place is in Greenbelt, NOT in Glorietta!! Waaaah!! So we went to Greenbelt to meet up with the rest.

Dinner in Bubba Gump (Greenbelt 3) with Bakal Soc and Company
After finding our way to Greenbelt, Niño and I finally met up with the rest. The first one who ran toward me was pay!!! Ngayon ko lang nakita si Pay ever since the graduation in PICC!!! I missed her so much! Then there was Mark with Madonna (his girlfriend), Ed (surprisingly without Leslie), and Phillipe with his girlfriend Cheryl (my Multiply comment buddy! Hahaha!). I was surprised to see Pilep because when I asked Niño about him, Niño told me that Pilep wasn't replying in text or on the e-groups. Dom, on the otherhand, is on her way! Late as usual! Haha! We then went to Bubba Gump to have our long awaited dinner date! After a while, Dom finally arrived, and surprisingly is wearing a purple tanktop which is in the same color as my purple polo shirt! Haha! We also told the staff members that it was Madonna's and Niño's birthday! They then proceeded to sing a song much to our delight and to the celebrants' humiliation! Hahaha! And instead of a cake, they gave the celebrants a sundae with a candle! Much to our surprise, it also tasted like candle wax! ;p

It was great! It was almost perfect pero hindi na naman complete kasi wala si Dale, Drey and Jeimie! Dale was going on an outing so he couldn't come. Ang arte nga eh! Haha! Drey and Jem on the otherhand, I was expecting to see them. Hindi pala sila member ng e-groups! Sayang! Anyways, we had a great time! The food was great but a little bit on the expensive side. Pero since minsan lang namin ito, okay lang gumastos ng malaki! ;p

Late Night BAR BOOZE SESSION in Makati (I forgot the bar's name! lolz)
The plan was, after the Greenbelt dinner, we'll all proceed to Pilep's house to have the usual barkada inuman and kwentuhan! But it happens, Dom was expected to go home with her dad (since no one will take her home 'cause Jeff is not with her and she no longer lives in Filinvest 2). Pay was also not allowed to go farther since her father asked the land lady where Pay is renting that they wait for her to go home. So kailangan niya talaga umuwi. So we decided to just go and find a bar here in Makati. After a few minutes walking around Makati, we got into this bar that Mark has recommended. Sorry hindi ko alam yung places because I'm not familiar with Makati. Mark and most of the guys work in Makati so they know the "pasikot sikot".

The bar was great! Wala masyadong tao and the ambiance is nice. It was great for hanging around. We ordered buckets of San Mig Light to make the kwentuhan, tawanan, and "picturan" last! There was even that Tito Sotto look a like, which I suspect is the bar owner. I think he overheard us joking about him! Haha! After that booze session, it was already 2am. We then went out. Picture pa rin! Haha! Tamang lasing lang kami. I was a little tipsy pero hindi masyado since lights lang at konti lang yung nainom namin. When we decided to go home, we hailed a taxi. The batch was separated since Dom, Niño, and Pay went with me... and the two couples and Ed went together.

The Dropoff (me, Dom, Pay, and Niño)
First to drop off was Pay who just lived just a couple of blocks away from Greenbelt. Next is Niño in Timog, QC. Then it was Dom's turn in Katipunan! I was so used to dropping her off in her house in Filinvest 2... and seeing her dropping off in Katipunan is something new to me.. maybe a little surreal. Haha! Then I'm off to Filinvest 2 to go home. Niño gave 200php, Dom gave me 100php... when I got home, the meter was exactly 300php! I got a freebie ride! Haha! Kudos to the taxi driver since he was fair and he was not "kupal" like the other drivers are. He never took advantage and he was honest. Off to bed I go when I got home. I was soooo tired! ;p

Well, sana maulit muli. Ang saya talaga eh! When I begin working, and earning, rest assured I'll be the one to set up these get togethers! ;p
