Thoughts about Macoy's PBB Voluntary Exit

I just watched Pinoy Big Brother Celeb Edition 2, and I just can't resist sharing my thoughts and comments! You know, the whole Macoy Fundales (former frontman of Orange and Lemons) making a voluntary exit! Heck, I'll even go as far as sharing it here! Hahahaha! ;p

*Why the heck am I writing about this? See the reason at the bottom! Haha!

As seen in TV, Macoy decided to opt out because nabastusan siya kay Dyogi, este, kay Big Brother pala. And know what, I totally agree with him! Hahaha!

It all started with a weekly task wherein the housemates were made to compose a film script/synopsis or whatever (I'm sorry I don't know because I just tuned in again only tonight just to see the whole "walk-out"/voluntary exit thing).

Anyways, so the housemates started their task. Eventually, Ethel Booba was called into the confession room wherein Dyogi, errr, Big Brother told her to tell the housemates to make sure that they're not copying NOR adapting anything 'cause they might get sued for plagiarism. Telling the housemate this, they discussed that what they're doing is not plagiarism. So they confronted Big Bro again.

Now outside the confession room, Macoy shares his feelings with the fellow housemates. He just told what he felt about the whole 'plagiarism' thing. Then out of nowhere, he gets called into the confession room. Here, he talks with a somewhat disgruntled Big Brother telling Macoy that he got offended. Then Macoy told his part: he told him that he didn't meant disrespect and that what he told the others outside was all made "with due respect to Big Brother".

Still, this (stupid) Big Brother kept on insisting that he was disrespected (who cares!). The hell, Macoy already apologized! OK?!

Macoy then told his part: that he was also offended because of the whole "plagiarism allegations", and that he was offended as an artist.

Still, Big Brother still sounded pissed! He kept on insisting his views... AND that he was offended (give it up already! Macoy already apologized!). Then he keeps on insisting that he's right!

Poor Macoy has no other choice but to defend himself. Now, this is where he got my respect. Just by the points that he made during that conversation, masasabi ko na may UTAK si Macoy. I mean, I never expected him to be the 'thinking' type or a man who can stress his points clearly. Every answer he did to the still angry Big Brother made sense. And he didn't even stutter... not even once!

Big Brother was the exact opposite. I don't know what he was trying to do. I think he was trying to infuriate Macoy, or atleast mapahiya niya si Macoy... I don't know. All I saw was, he was beaten by Macoy in a battle of words and points (of view).

All Big Brother (or whoever was acting as Big Brother... cough, Dyogi, cough!) was able to show was how stupid he was (and childish). I think it took a blow on his ego when he can't get Macoy to give in to his views (you CAN'T force everybody to your opinion!). This showed when Macoy is explaining his side, Big Brother kept on interrupting Macoy! He even went as FAR as dissing Macoy and asking him to leave the room when Macoy was STILL talking and explaining his side! NOW KUNG HINDI KABASTUSAN YUN, THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS! Hahahaha! Napikon si Dyogi.. este Big Brother! Haha! Either that, or he ran out of things to say! LOL!

Macoy, siyempre nabastos, decided to opt out of the game and make a voluntary exit. I mean, he had a point. He was explaining his side. Big Brother asked him kung bakit hindi raw siya pumasok sa confession room para i-air yung side niya... eh he did, but he was still ASKED TO GET OUT the room pa nga! Haha!

Now, you're wondering why I even posted anything about Macoy's exit or PBB. You're like: "Yuck, ang baduy ni Fil... nanunuod ng PBB!", or "Ang babaw naman ni Fil... masyadong affected sa Big Brother!" Hahahaha! ;p

Yes, I do watch PBB (but only occasionally)... and yes, I was affected! Haha! Why?!

KASI NAKA-RELATE AKO KAY MACOY!

Now, I won't stress it much. Let's just say that I've experienced (in one form or another) all what he did on that particular situation. All that "YOU'RE STRESSING YOUR POINT BUT SOME BONEHEAD WON'T HEAR YOU OUT BECAUSE HE'S YOUR SUPERIOR OR SOMETHING... SO HE/SHE FUCKS YOU UP INSTEAD BECAUSE HE/SHE GOT THE POWER!" *People close to me can actually relate to what I'm saying.*

That's why I felt Macoy. He actually got my respect because he stood up, never bending to that stupid superior. Kudos to him for making Big Brother look like a stupid 10-year old (no offense to 10 year olds! hahaha!) and walking out.

****Now, now, all this goes with the fact that all these events are not orchestrated or scripted ah! Hahaha! Malay natin, baka plano yan ng PBB crew just to bolster ratings. But if its true as it is, I salute Macoy. Actually a man of talent and smarts, definitely worthy of respect. He's the real winner of this show, IMO.

****And oh, Ethel Booba made an exit as well! IF ANYBODY CARES OR WHAT!! HAHAHA! ;p

Joint Party with Maki

True to tradition, Mark and I had our joint party again this year. We always had since College, since our birthday is just next to each other... and on the same year, nonetheless! ;p

As usual, it was on Mark's house again. The usual suspects are there: Pilep, Che, Kat Donna, Dale, Oninz, Ed, Pay, Dom, and Jem. It was great for Jem to be able to go, even with the last minute invitation. I still wish we were more "complete" though. :(

Anyways, it was a fun night. It was a food and booze fest. Aside from the beer, Che brought along her new "weapons"! Hahaha! It was 4 bottles of Soju. Supposedly, it was 2 each for me and Maki. But Maki decided not to drink, so we consumed the three bottles and left the last one for Mark. Good times! :)

By 3am, we're all down for bed! The rest decided to stay upstairs while Che, Pilep, and I decided to stay downstairs. I promised Che to have "kwentuhan galore"! Haha! Chismisan and bonding! Hehe. I'm grateful to have Che as a friend, and more happy for one of my best friends to have a great girlfriend! :)

*I should note that I received great birthday gifts. I got a mochachino flavored popcorn from Pay (tasted very good!), Soju from Che (Jangpong! Jangpong! sarap! hehe!), and a good looking shirt from Ed (he really have a knack choosing great shirts! ;p). Thanks guys! :)

*Word for the day was: "JANGPONG! JANGPONG!" haha!

We all woke up by 9am. Breakfast, then kwentuhan for a bit. Mark's mom, by the way, is back from the states. I'm happy for Mark because I know how much he missed his mom. :)

So, onwards to the next gimmick: Enchanted Kingdom with SINS. :)

Black Nazarene

The Black Nazarene has finally arrived here in our house. It'll stay here 'til next Monday. Each night while it's here, we have to pray the rosary.

This is specially tricky to me since I stopped praying all together for over a year now. I am someone which can be called a "closet atheist", if there's such a term, or a 'atheist in denial'. Meaning, I don't preach to anyone that I stop believing or whatever. I just stopped (I find people who tell others that they lost faith, weird. I mean, why do you tell others anyway? Just shut your mouth, ok? No one minds anyway). I still do the sign of the cross whenever I pass by a church, but sadly that's all because of force of habit.

It'll gonna take some time before I find my faith again.

Garage Sale

My sister initiated a garage sale here in our home. We sold our old items that we didn't have any use for anymore like old shirts, shoes, and some colognes. It was successful, we earned some dough.

My only cringe is that my ate is stupid enough (yes, I'm angry and won't mince words here) to sell some stuff for absolutely LOW! One of the casualty was my old Sketchers suede shoes. The only reason I'm selling it is because it was already too small for me. I then priced it for an already low 250 php. Now, a guy went in and bargained for 150 php! His reason, because there was a tear in the sole of the right shoe. I told my ate NOT TO AGREE.

Then this noon, when my ate arrived, she told me that my shoe was sold! I asked how much! She told me, 130 php!!!!!!!!! Putang ina! Bobooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Tangina! I maybe lazy in school that's why I fail, pero hindi naman ako BOBO tulad ng ganito!!!! Tangina. Nahiya pa sa tumatawad... eh tangina, diba dapat yung tumatawad yung mahihiya! Putaenang buhay ito! Hahaha! Pooota! ;p

Beowulf

Directed by: Robert Zemeckis
Starring: Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Robin Wright-Penn, Crispin Glover, and Angelina Jolie.

Based loosely on the oldest known English epic heroic poem from an unknown author, Beowulf is a computer animated movie that depicts the legendary hero's adventures, but with a twist. The movie offers high-octane action scenes, an amazing cast, great humor, as well as partial nudity that a PG-13 movie can offer. What more could you ask for? ;p

The movie starts off with King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins) with her young Queen Wealtheow (Robin Wright-Penn) beside him, having a party on his mead hall. Out of nowhere, a monster attacks the hall and literally crashed the party... killing off many people. It is then revealed that this monster is constantly wreaking havoc on King Hrothgar's kingdom, as well as its people. This monster is Grendel (Crispin Glover). Troubled by this scourge, Hrothgar seeks a hero who could slay the monster. Enter Beowulf (Ray Winstone) and his men. Beowulf, a legendary warrior and old acquaintance of Hrothgar, offer his services to slay the monster Grendel once and for all. Will Beowulf be successful? After slaying the monster, is his job done or does another ordeal awaits him? What is the real story behind Grendel, and why does he keep terrorizing Hrothgar's kingdom? There's more to it than meets the eye.

Beowulf, the movie, is a great (albeit, a loose) adaptation of the old English epic poem. The movie boast of great production: the graphics, the voice acting, the script. Everything is well drawn. At seeing the trailer of the movie, I thought it was a live action with real people. I was surprised to see that it was actually computer generated (like Shrek and The Polar Express). Yes, the graphics are THAT good! The actors look very much as their 3D generated counterparts. Everything in the movie really works. Director Robert Zemeckis really got the job done.

The only thing that I noticed that the other critics didn't like is the "LOOSE" adaptation on the movie. The screenplay writers added new twists for the movie, one being Beowulf's relationship with Grendel's mother. For me, this is the double-edge factor of the movie. Historians would definitely argue with the new twists the movie offered, while some would appreciate the changes the writers did to give the movie some substance.

I, for one, actually liked the new twist on the old legend. In this movie, they made Beowulf as someone more human as opposed to the original story where he seemed invincible and god like. Beowulf, in this adaptation, is someone who's flawed. He is capable of committing errors and mistakes like a normal human could, and it haunts him at the end. This, in turn, provides more substance for the movie. Instead of an typical flawless hero, we have someone who is flawed... someone real. Again, this brings substance. Great screen play.

Movie lovers would truly like the this film, while some historians would raise their eye-brows for the loose adaptation that the movie followed. Anyways, this is the must-see movie of the month (and probably one of the best for this year). High production value, great actors, amazing script... this is great twist to the old legend.
I don't want to discuss much, because I don't want to give off spoilers to ruin others' enjoyment. Watch it yourself. Must see! Rating: 10/10

Beowulf at Trinoma w/ Apple

Last night, Apple and I went to Trinoma to watch a movie. It started kasi nung Monday pa where I got to chat with Apple in YM... biglang nag-yaya ng Trinoma. I told her sa Thursday nalang! Hehe! So there, we set it. Rix was also supposed to come but she got sick so she begged off. :(

So there I was in Trinoma, waiting for Apple. Ang tagal dumating! Haha! Hindi tuloy kami umabot sa 8:45 screening. We took the 9:45 instead. To pass the time, we had a pizza dinner in Yellow Cab. Kwentuhan galore! Hehe! I missed Apple. I think the last time I saw her was during the 9 Waves swimming. It was really great talking with her again.

Time passed by quick, and daming kwento eh, and before we knew it... it's time for our movie na! ;p

We both enjoyed the movie. We kept laughing at the green jokes specially the near nudity humor in the film! Haha! I'm gonna post a separate review for it anyway. :)

The movie ended at around 12am na. Naligaw pa kami ni Apz papunta sa carpark. I always get confused with the carpark, yung palatandaan ko lang palagi is yung Bench Fix! ;p

After giving Apple a ride home, I went home as well. My mom greeted me at the door. Kakauwi niya lang rin pala from a meeting. She then asked me to go to Jollibee to buy some snacks! Haha! So my ate and I went off. Godbless 24-hour Jollibees. ;p

My 24th Birthday

November 14. Another birthday went and gone. And why do I feel that I'm growing backwards spiritually and mentally. I used to be a responsible and kind person, but now I'm slowly (but surely) becoming a jerk. I'm also the 2nd most irresponsible person I know (guess who's the first! hahahaha!). Anyways, I'll try to 'rebound'. ;p

Anywho, it was a nice day for me albeit a simple one. I just spent most of the day in the house... sleeping. I was feeling sick the moment I woke up that day. Colds have probably gotten to me. I had to drink a couple of Decolgen just to keep it at bay.

At night, we had dinner at Marina (in Tomas Morato). There was my mom and ate (my dad beg off because he wasn't feeling good, we just brought him food), as well as my best friends from high school, Richard and Verge. Karen, Verge's girlfriend also went along, as well as Verge's friend, Junior. It was nice having dinner with them. I had many good friends in high school, but Richard and Verge are the only ones who I really got to keep... meaning, we never really lost touch. They are also the ones whom I consider my LSM Barkada. I love them.

So, dinner and kwentuhan with good friends made up my 24th special day. :)

Also, it was nice taking the phone calls, as well as reading the text messages and the online birthday greetings that I received. It's great to see that friends actually remember you on your birthday. :)

So to all my friends who greeted me on my day,

A BIG THANK YOU!!! :)

You guys know who you are! I love you all! :)

greetings from ungas

When I came home this morning, I saw a "missed call" on my phone. It says "Unkown Call", so it's probably a long distance call. Luckily, there was a text message too! It was Ungas!!! Hahahaha! It was actually my very good friend Ungas aka Jannah (parang baliktad eh noh.. aka yung real name! haha)! Kaya pala long distance yung call, it was from Jannah who's on Houston, Texas. She called the second time and we're able to talk... she called just to give me an early/advanced birthday greeting. :)

Ungas and I became friends in UST because she was my classmate on my "original" batch. Pinapakopya ako niyan dati eh.. haha. She was also the one who helped me fix my LOA papers before. The sad thing is, she went to the states for good during third year college. Last time I saw her was when she came back last year for a Christmas vacation. Seriously, I'm touched that she even bothered to call me (long distance at that) just to greet me. Thanks ungas!!! ;p

On another similar event, I received a text message from another good friend, Stan. "Men, belated Happy Birthday" raw... eh he texted just last Sunday! Hahaha! Sabi ko, "Sa Wednesday pa yung birthday ko men!"... in which he replied, "Ah ganoon ba men? Akala ko Nov 8 ka eh.. Kobe ka kasi!". Hahaha! Anu ba yan, even if I'm a Kobe fanatic, it has nothing to do with my birthday noh!! Hehehe! Pero thanks anyways men! :)

Damn. Bye Gaby.

I just learned that Gaby Dela Merced will be going out of Pinoy Big Brother's house. She opted out of the show to be able to a attend "a one in a life time" chance for a racing seminar in the states. To think that she was my pick to actually win the show. Damn. Oh well, time to pick another housemate to root for. I'm thinking Yayo Aguila. Go Bagets! Haha!

I'll miss Gaby though. :(

I Don't Love You (Like I Did Yesterday)

Song for the moment, this time from My Chemical Romance. I just can't get it out of my mind... LSS crazy. It just stuck into my mind ever since I first played it. I never even heard of this song before, to think that this was their third single off their album, 'The Black Parade'. So hardcore MCR fans, don't label me as a mainstream "MCR poser fan"! Hahaha! ;p

But seriously, it was the first time I gave 'The Black Parade' an ear, and to say, it was actually a really good album. It's too bad MCR is getting labeled a sell-off by their old hardcore fans. Well, I guess that's how it goes when a band makes it big. ;p

*I'll start posting YouTube videos instead of Imeem, since Imeem only offers previews. ;p
*PS. I hate the video. I dunno if Gerard Way (the vocalist) was trying to purposely look ugly or what. If I had the option to stream the full music rather than the video, I would! ;p

I Don't Love You (Like I Did Yesterday) by My Chemical Romance

Well when you go
Don't ever think I'll make you try to stay
And maybe when you get back
I'll be off to find another way

And after all this time that you still ove
You're still a good-for-nothing I don't know
So take your gloves and get out
Better get out
While you can

When you go
Would you even turn to say
I don't love you
Like I did
Yesterday

Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading
So sick and tired of all the needless beating
But baby when they knock you
Down and out
Is where you oughta stay
And after all the blood that you still owe
Another dollar's just another blow
So fix your eyes and get up
Better get up
While you can

When you go
Would you even turn to say
I don't love you
Like I did
Yesterday

When you go
Would you have the guts to say
I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday

I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday
I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday

tambay day

Richard and Verg went here earlier this day. Tambay mode. All we did was eat, watch, kwentuhan, surf the net, and play basketball. I was also consulting Verg about how to "set up" our Corolla to somewhat make it look decent! Hahaha! ;p

This will be one of the last tambay mode for a while because I will be fixing the goddamn thesis starting next week. I hope my Thesis group won't be as absent minded though. Basta ang motto ko na ngayon, iwanan na ang dapat iwanan. Kung ayaw gumalaw, edi wag. Basta walang sisihan sa huli.

the burial, 'bagets', and the 'balls of fury'

Richard's lola was finally buried yesterday, November 6, in Manila Memorial Park. We went there riding Verg's car.

After the burial, we went straight to Richard's house to briefly rest. Tapos nanuod kami ng 'Bagets'! Hahaha! Laugh trip, grabe! ;p

Afterwards, the two accompanied me to my cousin's house where I left my memory card the other day. Buti nalang talaga nahanap ng Tita ko in one of their cars. I probably dropped it there because I hand carried all my things.

4pm and still no lunch, we went straight to Mega Mall. Had a VERY late lunch then decided to watch a movie: "Balls of Fury". Hell, I expected it to be bad... but not THAT bad! Grabe, as in hindi worth it talaga yung bayad sa sine. Sure the movie had its funny moments, but it's not enough to keep you satisfied at the end. It was all toilet humor until the end... some jokes were funny, some were straight off dumb! Stay away from this film... hindi worth it ito for just a simple laugh trip!

fashion victim

I think I'm gonna have a fever! :( Just got back from my cousin's house and nag-commute lang ko pauwi... naulanan pa ako.. bwicet na bus driver kasi yan.

Anyways, we went to the cemetery yesterday to visit my grandparents' tomb. There was also Tita Vick's (my mom's sis) family. It happened that Jon bought his brand new PS3, so he invited me to his house for an overnight stay! I couldn't say no because he's my closest cousin, along with his brother EJ. I said yes! Haha!

The funny thing was, I was wearing only pang-bahay! I was only expecting to go to the cemetery, then come back straight home so I didn't even bother to change (and given that it was so early in the morning). Bigla ba naman silang nag-yaya na mag GreenHills! So there I was, going to mass in Green Hills with complete pambahay attire! Yikes! As in I'm wearing clothes that I swore I'll never be caught dead wearing, and there I was in GreenHills, going to mass and eating in Burgoo with these clothes! Hahaha! Ok lang na I'm wearing slippers (flip flops) because it's in fashion, pero yung damit ko talaga super pambahay: ratted white T-shirt, and super pambahay puruntongs! Hahaha! So much for fashion! ;p

Anyways, when we got to my cousin's house, we started playing his spanking brand new PS3 which he got for 25K ata. I first tried playing Ninja Gaiden which was super cool, but hardcore hard! Next up was NBA 2K8! The sequel to the greatest basketball game I've ever played! Super cool! The graphics on the PS3 are really something different... definitely next gen. My jaw dropped a couple of times actually.

It's been a while since I last went to my Tita's house so it's really great being there again. I really enjoy being with my cousins. :)

Since I had to go home early, I went with the morning rush. This stupid bus driver didn't even drop me on the closer bus stop, and instead opted for the other side which got me all wet with the rain. Now, I'm sneezing like crazy. ;(

Friday, friday at Trinoma

Last Friday was a busy day. By 9am, Myk and the gays, este guys pala, we're already at our house. We're gonna play basketball. Eh antok pa, so pinauna ko na sina Myk sa clubhouse. After a while, Dale and I followed. We had lunch in my house after. Then yun, yung scheduled movie gimmik at Trinoma.

I was actually annoyed at the beginning because wala pa ring kumikilos even after I told them to hurry up. Nag text na kasi si Che na they we're already at Trinoma, waiting for us. After nagging for a while, the guys finally took the shower and fixed up! Buti naman! Haha!

It was around 4-5pm when we got to Trinoma. There, we met up with rest of the gang. All in all, there was: I, Dale, Myk, Anthony, Oninz, Ed, Philippe, Cheryl, and Kat.

The posse of Ed, Pilep, Che and Kat were the ones waiting at Trinoma. Hahaha!

Seriously though, nahiya talaga ako kay Che nung una. Si Dale kasi yung kausap nila nung the day before... eh isa pa si Dale sa pabagal bagal kumilos. Haha. Anyways, I apologized for the inconvenience we've caused. ;p

So after meeting up, we bought some snacks and proceeded to the movie house. We watched 30 Days of Night starring Josh Hartnett. I actually enjoyed the movie. I think it's probably the only horror movie in recent time that really kept me on the edge of my seat. Even Myk kept jumping on his seat after suspenseful moments! Haha! Just gonna do a separate blog review on it anyway. ;p

And besides the movie itself, success yung "conspiracy theory" and "seating arrangement"! Haha!

After the movie, we strolled for a while. We finally ended up in Teriyaki Boy for dinner. Tawanan, kwentuhan... all good times. ;p

After dinner though, something kicked in again. Yup, you guessed it... DOTA! The guys love it like cocaine. I dunno what they see in that game. It's just one map of Warcraft and they go on it for hour's end. I'm thankful I'm not hooked on that shit! Hahaha!

Anyways, I accompanied Che and Kat. Bonding moments dun sa labas. It was great talking to them. I even told them that I'm impressed with their DLSU clique (SINS) since they're constant dean's listers even though they party hard. I appreciate the fact that they shared a glimpse of their personal sides. I've known Cheryl long before as Pilep's girl friend, but it's great to have her now also as one of my good friends (and who I can joke and make chismis with! haha). I'm also thankful to have Kat as a friend (though probably MYK is more thankful! wink wink! Haha!). They are both great people. :)

After a while, the "DOTA Boys" finally arrived! Haha! So ayun, picture-picture... kwentuhan.. tambay. We stayed there until past 11pm I think (I got at the house around 12am na). We finally parted ways at the parking lot. I was parked at the rooftop and took with me Dale, Oninz, and Anthony. The rest left with Myk who's parked at the 3rd floor.

Until the next gimmik! :)

RIP to Richard's Lola

Early Saturday morning, I went to Richard's lola's wake. His lola succumbed to lung cancer last thursday, November 1, in Medical City's ICU. Being Richard's friend since LSM days, I can tell that he is REALLY close to her grandma, and I can only imagine the pain in him right now by losing this one very special person.

Verg was also there at the wake. We even went to the grocery for the juice and snacks for the guest in the wake. Afterwards, my mom and I went to Gateway to meet up with my sis (who gave me her early birthday gift! wow! hehe!). Window shopping, shopping (my mom is a sucker for Cole Haan), then finally dinner at Pancake House. I was sooo tired that even at the wake, I was actually falling asleep na... how so later at the day? Probably caused by the activities last friday (see the other blog entry). By the time we got back in the house, I was dead asleep.

30 Days of Night

Starring: Josh Hartnett, Melissa George
Directed by: David Slade
Produced by: Sam Raimi, Ted Adams

A movie adaptation of the graphic novel by Steve Niles.

In Barrow, Alaska, there is an annual event of a month long "30 Days of Night". It's 30 days without the sun. As the town people are preparing for it a day before, mysterious events are happening: a pack of sleigh dogs were killed, the only town helicopter was destroyed, and cellphones went missing. Town sheriff Eben Oleson (Hartnett) was tasked to investigate. After a while, all of the evidences points to The Stranger, who only tells them: "They're coming for all of you". It turns out, The Stranger was referring to the Vampires who came into town to take advantage of the 30 Days without the sun. What follows is the fight for survival against the seemingly unstoppable undead.

I actually enjoyed this movie. Before I watched it, I read the reviews. Even though the reviews were good, I never really expected much just to not get disappointed. Much to my surprise, this is actually one of those movies which kept me on the edge of my seat. The shocks, thrills, gores, and eerie atmosphere was all fleshed out superbly. The atmosphere of the movie was so great that when the protagonists are arguing with themselves, I found myself saying (to myself): "Shut up guys, the vampires might hear you!!!" ;p

The actors were also able to deliver a great performance. Hartnett was ok, the vampire leader was superb, and the rest delivers a fine job. Obviously, director David Slade did a great job. Also, this is a movie produced by THE Sam Raimi. I was always been a fan of Raimi's even before he got famous with those Spiderman movies (Evil Dead FTW!).

All in all, a superb movie adaptation of the graphic novel. Have a perfect eerie atmosphere which promotes paranoia, and didn't relied solely on 'cheap thrills'. Rating: 8/10
