excited for kobe

Yes, yes... I know I already posted about this but I must say that I get excited as each day closes in to September 5 (aka Kobe's arrival)! I'm a big, big, HUGE fan of Kobe so getting a chance to see him (and hopefully, meet him) live is really a huge thing.

Funny thing is, I didn't know where the venue is... and then I happen to see a link from my Multiply update page: KOBE BRYANT'S NIKE VISIT. I clicked it. Wow, it actually stated where the venue is, and when is the exact time! And then it sinked in: whose Multiply page am I viewing? It turns out, it was Reema Chanco's page! Wow! Haha!

I get to watch her in Basketball Channel's NBA Jam. She's that cute, sporty chick. I always liked her. She has that simple, cool, down to earth aura around her. Just imagine my surprise that she accepted my contact invitation. Hehe. She was even cool enough to send me a PM saying that she's glad that I saw her Kobe post. So guys, I am now a big fan of Reema Chanco! Haha!

tiredddd...

Just got back from Duty Free. My mom got back from Cambodia last night, so as usual, we went to Duty Free. And as usual, I loaded on chips and chocolates! Haha! I'm a little disappointed though because Kisses Almonds, my UBER favorite chocolate, are out of stock?! The hell?! Duty Free running out of Kisses Almonds?! Sacrilege!!!

I'm off to bed now. Yawn.

another saturday passed by..

Saturday morning, and my head is splitting. Major headache. To think that I gnarled on Advils the night before. The sad part was I have to go to the grocery with my sister that same morning. Driving with a hurting head is really annoying, specially when there's traffic. *Traffic on Saturday morning?! What the fuck?!*

In the afternoon, I went to Trinoma to go and meet the guys from PinoyPSP. It was their EB, and one of them invited me. I couldn't say no because the day before, that same guy helped me do the firmware upgrade for my PSP, all via YM. What I need to pay for 500 bucks, I got for free. So I really couldn't say no.

The EB was supposed to be at Starbucks, 2pm. It so happens that it was raining, and HARD! And once again, the traffic caught up with me. I got there around 4pm. Another thing is that there was no parking.. the only parking space I got was on the open rooftop parking! I had to run from the car towards the mall! Haay! I was soooo wet! Akala siguro ng mga tao, wet look talaga ang style ko. Haha.

I ended up not going to the EB. Why? Because I'm all wet and look like crap. And it's like, 4:30pm already. And besides, I really don't know them personally... remember, I only got to talk to the guy via YM. So, identifying them is kinda hard... and how the hell would I introduce myself?! "Hi, I'm Fil.. I'm usually a lurker in your forums, but then this guy helped me and invited me to the EB!" Hahaha!

I hope that guy didn't harbor any hard feelings for my no-show. At least I left him an online message apologizing for my absence.

To be honest, I'm really not a big fan of meeting people from the net and going for an EB. The last time I did that was when I was still in high school, when I was still chatting via mIRC. I thought then that it was cool picking up girls via chat. Even my HS barkadas would invite me if they had their very own set up EB! Haha! Believe me, it almost always ended up bad. Hahaha!

Chasing Cars

I *heart* this song from Snow Patrol. My song for the moment. ;p

CHASING CARS by snow patrol

We'll do it all, everything, on our own.
We don't need anything, or anyone.

If I lay here, if I just lay here
Would you lie with me, and just forget the world.

I don't quite know how to say how I feel
Those three words, are said too much, they're not enough.

If I lay here, if I just lay here
Would you lie with me, and just forget the world.
Forget what we're told, before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life.

Let's waste time, chasing cars, around our heads.
I need your grace to remind me, to find my own.

If I lay here, if I just lay here
Would you lie with me, and just forget the world.
Forget what we're told, before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life.

All that I am, all that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where, confused about how as well
just know that these things will never change for us at all.

If I lay here, if I just lay here
Would you lie with me, and just forget the world.

My dad is asleep, my mom is in Cambodia, and my sister is still at work. Well, I guess I'll have to finish this all by myself! ;p

...but I sure would've loved to have shared it with someone. :(

XBOX 360 - Beware

I got a call from my friend Richard last night, and he told me the bad news. His XBOX 360 is DEAD. Yes. A brick. Or rather, more like (as he put it) a paper weight. Apparently, it suffered the infamous XBOX 360 malfunction known as RROD (Red Ring of Death)! To put it bluntly, when all the light indicators around the power button becomes red, it only means one thing: you're fucked. He brought it to Greenhills only to find out that the motherboard is all melted, or burned, or whatever.

Sad thing is, he bought it from Greenhills and had it modded up, so basically, there's no warranty from Microsoft.

Poor guy. And poor me. No more HD Kobe Bryant/NBA 2k7 every time I drop by his house. :(

Microsoft should fix their shit next time.

(yet another) weird dream

It went like: I was lying on my bed, half-awake (I was really asleep, but the dream felt like I was half-awake) like I was on drugs or something (think DOWNERS). Then I look at my right hand's finger nails, which are really long. Then I suddenly pierced my right cheek with my sharp nails! Then boom, I'm awake! Haha! Really, it felt more like a nightmare than a dream. It really freaked me out that I cut my fingernails that same night! ;p

OMG! Kobe on Manila! Sept. 5!!!

I'm just so excited! I'll probably camp out the place where he'll be showing up! Gotta get my Kobe rookie card (which Ed gave me) as well as my Kobe jersey and tarp, all signed by the man himself! Mwahahahaha!

*Thank god I'll be leaving on the sixth! I'll get to see Kobe... L I V E!!!* ;p

The Philippine Daily Inquirer article last Friday

Kobe visits Manila Sept. 5

CAGE SUPERSTAR KOBE BRYANT IS ARRIVING IN MANILA on Sept. 5 as the first stop of his five-city tour of Asia.

This was announced yesterday by Nike, which will be hosting the main man of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association.

Dubbed the Kobe Supernatural Asia Tour, it will also make stops in Taipei on Sept. 6, Hong Kong on Sept.7, Shanghai on Sept. 8, and Beijing on Sept. 9 and 10. It was organized to give Kobe the opportunity to work with kids throughout the region and inspire them to energize and improve their basketball game.

Mentally and physically, Kobe is a force to reckon with on the court. He follows a core set of values that can be seen through his focused training and mental toughness that helped him score 50 points or more ten times last season.

"I'm looking forward to returning to Asia to see the progress the kids have made since my visit last summer and to train those I didn't meet," said Kobe. "I liked what I saw then and I'm planning to work the kids even harder this time to give them a better sense of my training regiment."

Off the court, Kobe has long believed in giving back to the community. Whether in LA, Philadelphia or throughout the world, Kobe continues to bring smiles to children's faces through his charity work. During the Tour, Kobe will be participating in charity events with his fans.

Additionally during the Tour, Nike and Kobe will introduce a new version of the Kobe II, part of the Fall 2007 basketball footwear product line. The product will be launch throughout Asia beginning Sept. 6.

For details on the Kobe Tour, log on to www.nike.com.ph.

weird dream

I'm having these weird dreams as of late. Now, I just awoken from this dream where I'm with my UST thesis mates, with one of our UST professor, having our defense. The weird thing is, we're at Lourdes School Mandaluyong, my highschool alma mater! The weirdest part is that, it seemed all natural. I mean, our other UST profs and classmates are passing by, and we're like: "Oi! Musta?!", like it's natural and there's nothing wrong about it. Weird.

on the boob tube

Angel Locsin
Yeah, the news is that Angel Locsin has jumped ship to GMA's rival network, ABSCBN. It's funny how GMA is really bitter about this. IMO, both parties made mistakes. GMA, on the other hand though, won't stop the intrigues and black propaganda on Angel Locsin. Haha! Straight from Lolit Solis' ugly, venomous, t-bird mouth, she claimed that Angel had an abortion; has a sex video; and her mom's a house maid that was impregnated by her dad.

On the case of abortion, that is a pretty big claim. The rumors say that she got pregnant by the late Mico Sotto, and resorted to abortion. If ever it's true (which I think is not - How can she be friendly-friendly with Ali Sotto all this time, if ever it was true?!), that's on Angel's conscience. On the 'her mother is a maid' part, what the HELL is wrong if her mother was a maid?! Anong masama dun?! And lastly, the sex video! Haha! I've seen it. I came across it on the Internet just now. It's definitely not Angel Locsin. It's Natt Chanapa, a porn star from Thailand! *Lolz, and I wonder how I know these things!* The funniest thing is, that Wilma Galvantes fellow, the GMA executive, said that she's SURE that it's really Angel Locsin on that video! Hah! What a way to destroy your own credibility! Just shows how GMA is really bitter about this. To think that they're paying Lolit Solis' ugly ass to air all this exploitation/ black propaganda on nationwide television. ;p

GMA Dubbing
I was surfing the TV earlier today (which is a rare thing for me nowadays) and came across the re-dubbed GMA version of Meteor Garden. Now, this is why even die hard "kapuso" fans admit that GMA does bad dubbing! It is horrendous! GMA should really put on some budget when it comes to dubbing shows. Total murder.

On new shows
I heard Marimar premiered earlier tonight on GMA. Sadly, I was fast asleep due to exhaustion. It looks interesting, and Marian Rivera looked really pretty. I hope the show do well.

The show for the moment for me though is Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos. I heard the show was moved into primetime and that it was extended. Good for Roxanne G. and company. Haha!

Another good show is the Claudine-Piolo series, Walang Kapalit. I heard it's nearing its end. Jodi Sta. Maria (my ever childhood crush! haha!) always steals the show. It's amazing how she could play this crazy woman (unless she's really crazy! haha!). Great stuff.

Now you wonder how I watch all these stuffs. Well, I have no choice. Ever since I was in college, the TV seems to be locked on ABSCBN every night! You can't fight the people here for a spot on the TV! Now it became a force of habit until I got to enjoy it! Haha! You say it's baduy or corny, mainly because it's local or what? Then think about all that Koreanovelas/Chinovelas/Japanovelas that all these people are crazy about. Remember when popular Korean soap stars goes to the Philippines, pinoys go gaga over them?! Remember when the F4 was so HOT, and Meteor Garden was the show to watch!? Remember when they came here, it was f4 FRENZY?! Haha! Well, guess what. I heard they had a Jericho Rosales FRENZY in Malaysia and India! I also heard that Christian Bautista is pretty BIG in Indonesia! Hahaha!

The thing is, attracted tayo (Filipinos as a whole) sa gawa ng ibang dayuhan that we overlook what we have. And maybe it's the same with other countries. I heard from my sister who teaches English to Koreans, that she asked her korean students on what their sentiments about their very own koreanovelas. They said that it was baduy and that they don't watch it. Haha. Kung ano ang baduy sa atin, maganda para sa kanila... and vice versa. Wow, God really made us such complex creatures! ;p

A while ago, while I was lying on my bed half asleep, I felt something. I felt someone came into the bed and embraced me from the back. I thought it was my mom. Akala ko nanglalambing na naman. It felt cold (as in maginaw) and ticklish. Ticklish because it felt like someone was playfully blowing at the back of my neck. It was starting to feel uncomfortable (specially the 'ticklish' part) so I decided to turn around to face her. Problem is, I can't move! I felt VERY heavy! When I gave in more effort, that's when I was able to move. When I turned around, there was no one there! Shet, tumayo yung balahibo ko.

Bangkok Trip: Postponed!

Yeah. I was supposed to be leaving tonight for Bangkok but it was canceled. I was supposed to be leaving with my sister but she was complaining about lower back pains which turned out to be a kidney stone (we'll know for sure tomorrow when we get her stonogram test results). Because of this, she wasn't allowed to go on with the trip. She will undergo medication.

In turn, the trip will be postponed to September 6th! Argh! In addition, we were fined 8 thousand pesos for canceling at the last minute! I think my sister really felt sad about it. I can tell 'cause she's quiet most of the time nowadays.

badtrip+badluck

At 1:30am this morning, we rushed my sister to the hospital. Apparently, the lower back pains she was complaining in recent days about has become unbearable. And driving there (to the hospital) was a challenge! The rain shower was massive! It's the strongest fucking rain I've ever seen while inside a vehicle! I can hardly see anything outside! I am in no way exaggerating! It's like seeing everything outside your windshield as a blur! Really, nakakatakot. We had the emergency signal on throughout!

My mom and sis slept on the hospital bed, while I sat on the chair. I can't sleep! I'm not one of those people who can manage to fall asleep on a chair (unless I was REALLY tired). Instead, I brought along my PSP which helped me pass the time until it's battery gave out. It was already 7am and still no feedback from the hospital laboratory about my sis's urine analysis. When the reports finally came, it said that the urine is ok. But the doctor decided that my sis undergo CT Scan to check if she has something. And then it appeared.

Seems that there was something blocking her urinary tracts though they still could not identify it yet. But most probably, it is a Gall-bladder stone, the doctor said. Now, I went home ahead of them because my mom felt that I was the one who wasn't able to rest. I think she's planning to confine my sister to the hospital. I'll most probably get back there later. I hope everything goes ok after the 'more thorough check up'.

Now, this is the reason why I always tell my close friends and love ones to go to the doctor and have themselves checked up. An annual check up won't hurt. Just imagine that our family have annual checkups, but this kind of thing still happened! Now, imagine... paano pa kaya yung mga hindi nagpapacheck up!? Di ba?! Kaya wag na matigas ang ulo! Don't let this happen to you. It hurts for someone to suddenly know that they have some kind of ailment, specially if they least expect it. I know just by looking at my sister's face.

Subsequently, our Bangkok trip which is supposedly tomorrow is postponed. I initially told my mom to postpone the trip because I was worried that my sis' ailment might 'creep' through. It's hard to get ill at a foreign place. Believe me, I know.

I really need to get some sleep now but the problem is, I can't. I don't feel sleepy but I can feel my body is weakened... specially that dastardly headache that's happening to me now. It feels like a drill, banging on my skull. Gotta go now. Try to get some rest so I can go back to the hospital later. Pray for my sister.
