new gloves

I bought my new gym gloves last Sunday. It's a pair of Nike gloves again! Bwahahaha! I went to SM Fairview with my sister, right after Verge dropped me off. Driving with the hang over and all was alright. What bothered me was after I parked the car in the parking lot (duh!), my stomach ache acted up again! Buti nalang nawala rin after a while. Oh, by the way, I used my credit card extension to buy the gloves. Just imagine my mom's face when she sees the bill! *grin* lolz

U P D A T E
I tried my new gloves this morning. I kinda have mixed reactions. There's something quite wrong about the zipping portion of the gloves. It's not opening up involuntarily like what the other users in the net says, but my cringe is that it is a tad bit uncomfortable. The zipper was somewhat irritating. But overall, I love it. The fit is great. It's like you're not wearing gloves at all. I still miss my old gloves though, wherever it is... or rather whoever owns it now.

pissed

Right now, I'm pissed exactly like how I was during my last year in school! It seems some people, when they are really LAZY, they really won't change! They make up all those stupid excuses which are easily can be proved invalid. It pisses me off, now thinking that by now, they should have changed... but no... they still pass work to others. Fucker. Go to hell. If you want this, then fine. You really don't want to work, huh?! Well, I have all the time in the world. I hope you do, too!

Verge's Birthday/Beer Bash

Last Saturday, July 21, was Verge's (Jayms) birthday so he invited me and Richard to his party. Verge and Richard are definitely my closest friends from LSM (Lourdes Mandaluyong). We all practically grew up together, and even though we all got lesser time for our barkada during college, we never forget to see each other periodically. It's just that we got involved in different interests. Verge liked cars and automobiles, Richard liked techie stuffs and gimmiks, I liked bullshit. So you get the idea. But the thing is, we still remained very good friends even though we all rarely get to see each other the past years or so.

Back to Verge's party, he picked us up in Richard's place. I was surprised to see Verge driving a pick up! Haha! "Pawis-steering" kasi so I bet he really got tired (which took a toll on him later that night! Haha!) It was the first time I got to Verge's crib. It was huge! It was like one big townhouse, five levels, with plenty of rooms which he let others rent.

Siyempre eat muna. Haha. This is my first meal of the day - 11pm! I love that spaghetti! Yum! ;p

After the preparations are finished, we all proceeded to Verge's rooftop where the inuman will take place. It was nice to meet all the people there. All Verge's friends. It's funny they're all calling Verge as "President" and Karen (Verge's very nice girlfriend) as "First Lady"! Haha! Verge has a nice mix of friends. They're all cool and none of those were the "maangas/mayabang" type. One of them stood out though, that one crazy girl Anna. Haha.

Anna is a nursing graduate. She seems to be acting odd at the beginning. Odd because she was talking to Richard and I, and she seemed drunk despite the party not yet starting! She even kept on smoking, despite of her bad cough! Haha! She kept showing us her phone pics! And as we kept talking, I discovered that she was also from UST! Nursing from UST! I had always the greatest admiration for those people, the UST nursing, so my respect for Anna peaked! Haha! We then called each other 'Tomasian' to refer to each other! Then as the night deepened and more beer went down my throat, I can eventually 'relate' with her! Haha! It seems she was drinking even before we got there. Later that night when I was really drunk, she even dared me to a bet which I can hardly remember! All I can remember is that we were being loud! Nakakahiya siguro yun! Haha! The dare was something like 'Simon Says' in which you do exactly what the other person does. Richard was my supposed proxy, I thinking that he was sober, he can beat the also drunk Anna! Well goodbye to my 50 bucks because we still lost. She outsmarted us, and Richard not being able to read properly the text inside the beer, led to our defeat! Kainis! Haha.

The inuman was great. It was the first time I get to drink with Verge. Even before the party started, I planned to get wasted out! Haha! It was my dear friend Verge's birthday anyway, and this is the first time I get to drink with him. Richard didn't drank that much. From what I know, he doesn't drink beer much. Good for him!

After a couple of bottles of Red Horse, it ran off. There was only San Mig Lights left (which I REALLY hate!!!) For some odd reasons, I have a MUCH lower tolerance level drinking Lights than Red Horse (which is supposedly 'stronger' than Lights). And it seems the birthday boy also hated Lights. Well, the 'Lights' got to Verge and me. Like I've said earlier, Verge's exhaustion with his 'pawis-steering' pick up got to him. So beer + exhaustion = CENSORED. Hahaha! Just imagine My Sassy Girl's train scene at the beginning where the girl puked on the old man! All I can say is, Karen got the best of it! Hahahaha! During this time, I'm tipsy of course so I didn't really saw the details. I thought Verge was just playing with the beer! Richard, sober and all, saw everything and told me the details. Haha! Goodtimes!

After sometime, surrender na ako. I was tipsy as HELL! I can't even stand nor walk properly. I even remember talking gibberish, and half-assed english mockery which doesn't make sense! So, as we were walking towards Verge's room, I ran across a sharp metal object protruding on a wall! It cut my right arm bad! You can see the skin teared off! But the pain was very tolerable 'cause like I've said, I was drunk as hell! When we got to the room, I can vaguely see my arm bleeding but didn't care. What I did instead was to look for a paper bag! Hahaha! I knew even before the beginning that this will happen! Haha! Yes, this is the only the third time I puked! On a Mossimmo paper bag, no less! Sosyal! Hahaha!

I was KO'ed! I wanted to sleep. Verge on the other hand was already fast asleep and drunk even before we got there. I was worried for him so I kept asking Richard where Verge is. At least, that's a few of what I remember. Supposedly, tabi kami ni Richard sa isang cushion which Verge prepared for us earlier. Much to my surprise, something, someone is so loud, waking me up. It's Anna! Drunk as hell, dun siya natulog sa left ko which is supposedly Richard's place! Of course I can't really remember much.. talking with me is like talking to a person half-asleep. I can only remember talking to them, Richard and Anna, but I was probably speaking nothing but gibberish no less.

Suddenly, I woke up out of nowhere. It was COLD! Verge's aircon is in full-blast, and where is my blanket! It's on Anna who's sleeping so soundly beside me. I was surprised to see Richard on the other side. Sa sahig na natulog! And he too doesn't have a blanket! Ang lamig pa naman nun. I felt sorry for him. Hay! I kept dragging my blanket from Anna to no avail! I just went back to sleep, shivering.

After a while, Anna laughed. She laughed. Richard and I don't know why. She laughed then stretched her arms. Have I said that she was one crazy girl? Haha! Then the day began, and Verge was also awake. So is Karen and everyone. And we were all talking about the crazy night that happened. Good times! Haha!

I had one crazy hangover. I didn't have the appetite to eat the whole day, but that's probably because of my force of habit. My head was like floating, and I can't think properly. This hangover was bad, but not as bad as before where I got drunk in Pier One with Dom and Ed. I ended up sleeping in Ed's place that time. I really thought I was gonna die that time. Haha. So this hang over is actually much more bearable. Also, sober now despite the hangover, I was actually surprised to see this BIG scar on my right arm. Slowly, I remembered that I hit that shard metal object on the wall during my tipsy walk the other night.

We stayed for the duration of the day there with Verge where we slowly recovered. I get to talk and see all the people now again without actually being drunk. Haha! Anna, much to our surprise is still the same. I don't know if she was really drunk during the party 'cause she still seems to act like she did the other night! Haha. Normal pala yun. Hehe. But she's actually a great person. She seems to be the smart type who studies but also parties hard. She's also thoughtful enough to tell me to take care of my wound, and to not drink that hard again. I hate it when people tell me this! Haha. I jokingly told her: "Anu ba yan, ikaw ba nanay ko?!" In which she replied: "Just watching for one of our own" (Referring to the Tomasian bond). Haha.

During the later noon, Verge and his friend dropped Richard, Anna, and me home. I really enjoyed Verge's party, mainly because this is the first time we three (Richard, Verge, and I) got together with an inuman like this. I would love to drink with the two of them again.

I will post pictures if ever I get them. Verge's friend was the one taking the pictures so I really don't know if I'll ever get a copy. I hope I can get the pic with us three, which I requested. I don't think we ever had a pic, us three. No pic with my two LSM best friends? Sacrilege. Better get that pic.

stupid me

Just now, I started to remember that I have cellphone! I haven't seen it for three days! When I looked around, I saw it lying down in one of the rooms. It seems I've completely forgotten about it until now! Haha! Low Batt na! ;p

Sorry for all those who called and texted! Haha! ;p

back to the gym

It was well worth half a month that I stopped going to the gym. Besides losing my beloved Nike gloves, I also wanted to call it quits because I got tired of it all. Now after a while I'm back. Why? Good question! I'm back because my mom FORCED me too. She was worried with my health.

This time around, I go to the Philippine Information Agency's gym. When I was a freshman in college, I get to use this place. Coming back, everything was nice. They repainted the walls, and the equipments look brand new. My only cringe is that there are no heavy dumbell sets. That means I have to screw/unscrew everything if I want to use a certain weight. Hassle.

It's actually ok. I think it will provide a good workout, except for some back exercises (the one I did today). By the time I was finished today, my hands were aching. Then my mom offered to use my credit card to buy new Nike gloves. Now, she really do WANTS me back in the gym! Haha.

(bad) boys will be (bad) boys

Last night, I spoke to a friend of mine. She's attracted to this guy so much it's crazy! Haha! The reason for her attraction: the guy's "bad boy" appeal! Haha!

This makes me wonder: why does girls find the 'bad boy' stereotype so attractive and appealing? Do they even consider that knowing that the guy is 'bad', he might do her no good in the end? I don't really know. But as usual, I have my take on this matter. I always have an opinion on everything now do I? Haha!

From what I've observed, girls are thrilled or excited to get the 'bad boy' because of this: they think they can change them.

To be more specific, they are attracted to these bad boy stereotypes because they are fascinated of the thought of being able to change these guys. They think that these guys will change for them... for love. This, from what I've observed, is what drive girls crazy for mister bad boy. Somehow, they're excited of the thought of being able to change the guy.

However, in my most honest opinion... they are mistaken. I don't believe that a guy would change because of a girl.

Now, don't bash me! Like I've said, this is only my opinion. I never said that I'm correct on this. I'm just sharing my thought about the matter at hand, all based on my psychoanalyzing people(I do have a lot of time on my hands, noh?).

Returning to the subject, like I've said, girls are fools to believe this. There may be some instances that a guy changes for a girl but the odds are VERY little. Mostly, these happens on the movies! Haha! Joke! ;p

Seriously, like I've said, the odds are very little. Most of the time, it turns into heartbreaks, and crying marathons on their girl pals' shoulders. One example is that a girl asks his (bad boy)boyfriend to quit smoking. Believe me, this will cause a quarrel:

The guy would agree to stop, albeit hesitantly - He can't help it so he will smoke behind the girl's back - Girl catches bad boy boyfriend - Fight - The guy will call it quits because he'll think the girl is changing him to something he's not - Girl is heartbroken.

Yeah I know that the given example above is actually mababaw but this can actually destroy a relationship! Believe me! A much deeper example would involve families, thoughts, and individuality.

Now I don't want to be Doctor Quack now but what I believe is that when a girl wants a boy (and vice versa), he/she wants them for who they are... and not for whom they want them to be.

So to girls: If you want the 'bad boy', you should like him for who he is. Don't like him because you think you can change him. It's just unfair. Yes, I know na masarap ang feeling na napagpabago niyo yung guy... but what if he doesn't change, what would you do? Cry? Tell yourself that you're stupid enough to fall for him? If he changes, then great. If he doesn't, then accept him for what he is. Like I've told my friend the other night, don't expect much.

the boy

Today, I'm writing about the little boy next door to ours. Starting December last year, this kid is always dropping by in our house, visiting my dad. It made my dad very happy since he like kids (he likes to play favorites. hehe). It turns out, he was the kid of our neighbor's housemaid.

Early this year, this kid frequents our house. He would talk to me, always wanting to play. Makulit na bata! Haha. Then after a while, he wasn't dropping by anymore. We learned that he was taken back to Bohol, his mother's hometown, because her mom couldn't afford schooling here any longer.

Months passed then I was surprised that he's here again! He's back. The only difference is he seems so passive now. No longer the talkative little kid. I even find this awkward because he used to be so 'makulit' to me before. This made me think:

"Did this kid changed?"

"Or did I changed?"

Maybe I changed, thus affecting the little kid's perception of me. Maybe I grew cold these past months. Maybe he sees me as a 'terror' figure because I rarely smile anymore, and mabilis na akong mainis. I remember when I was a kid his age, I was afraid of people who look strict. Mabilis akong matakot. Maybe the kid sees me now as one of those people who kids gets afraid of.

Sometimes, people change. And it seems that the last person who'll notice they've changed is themselves.

Chrono Trigger

Ever since I started playing Chrono Trigger on my PSP's SNES emulator, I couldn't put it down! It's one of those great games that I didn't have the opportunity to play years ago. The reason because I never got to own a Super Nes. I bought a Sega MegaDrive/Genesis instead. Now I know why people keep hailing it one of the greatest games ever. The irony is that I got to play it's sequel, Chrono Cross for the PSX, first before the original Chrono game.

Great game with equally great storyline. Time traveling has always fascinated me, and Chrono Trigger's main plot revolves around time traveling and changing the past. Makes me think now if only I had the ability to change the past, I would've done a whole lot of difference.

upcoming trips

I'm getting revved up for my upcoming trips. At last! After almost everyday of confinement (and living like a vampire) inside the house, I will be able to travel once again!!

The first trip will be a homecoming in Cebu, my dad's province. I think the last time I went there was 4 years ago. We will be taking care of an ancestral property there. Hopefully, I can get some sun again (even though the rainy days are here already)! We'll be going there either on the last week of July, or on the first week of August.

The second trip will be on Bangkok. This is the first time I will be going there! I heard a lot of things about Bangkok, and I'm very excited! I will be leaving hopefully by mid-August. Probably the 2nd week. My mom is already asking the exact date. Hopefully by Friday, the whole reservation/plane ticket thing is fixed.

saturn emulation!!

I was pretty much amazed when I learned about the successful Sega Saturn emulation! From what I know before, there were no successful emulators for the Saturn due to the system's complicated structure!

Much to my surprise when I got to watch a YouTube video showing an emulation of Panzer Dragoon Zwei on the Saturn! I can't believe my eyes! I've been dying to play Dragon Force again, ever since my Saturn unit broke down!

So I hurriedly searched for the emulator. I thought it would be easy but it wasn't. Turns out, the emulator was 'illegal'! It was ripped from Sega's own emulator project (I still found it though)! After installing, I thought it was the end of it... but no! It turns out, I need the system's BIOS! So off I searched again, until I got it and installed it. It took me a while to make the games run though. I had to configure things just to make it run on my computer.

After a while, I was off and running Dragon Force again! Nostalgic heaven! This is God sent! :)

vampire

These past few weeks, I've been living like a vampire (minus the blood sucking). I've been sleeping at 4-5am, and waking up at around 2-4pm! I dunno what got into me, nor do I remember when this started. I've even tried to sleep earlier one time. I went to bed around 11pm, but then I can't sleep! An overflow of things are running on my mind. It just won't let me rest! I ended up falling asleep around 3am!

Maybe I should go and see a doctor about this. I always end up missing a lot of things when I wake up late.

Yipeekayey, Motherfu---r

Finally, I've seen one of the two films I've been dying to watch, Die Hard 4.0 (the other being Transformers)! All I can say is, I love the film! It's very explosive, and the backdrop of the story was actually OK (the computer hacking/terrorism thing). Coming from a fan of Bruce Willis and this movie franchise, I can say that this movie lives up to the original Die Hard. This is actually the better sequel for the original movie! My only complaint is the change of tone. Die Hard 4.0 is rated PG13 for god's sake! There's no guts, and there's no swearing (heck, 'yipeekayey, motherFUCKER' was replaced with 'yipeekayey, mother-BANG (gunshot)')! But still, it's a very good movie for everyone. There's rumors circulating anyway that the DVD release will contain all the guts and swearing. Yay! Gotta buy it when it comes out! ;p

geek boy

These past few days, I've been reliving my dork days from grade school. I've been tinkering with my Sony PSP, installing home brew applications. Yes, there's a risk of bricking (damaging the firmware and rendering your PSP useless) by installing these applications. I've promised myself not to do these before, but the curious cat in me couldn't help it. Thankfully, my PSP is still fine!

I've also been recollecting softwares for my Windows. Since my Windows got corrupted, I had to reformat thus starting from scratch! Now, I've been downloading online for programs. I miss using Adobe Photoshop! It'll be a while to be able to meet my friends again, and borrow software installers so I'm relying on the freewares on the net.

Another thing for me is my new found interest in Tetris! Largely inspired by Utada Hikaru (see here), I started playing this great game again. I was never bad at this game before, but I was never that good too. I'll try to push my limits and see how good I can be with this Tetris! ;p

lost my gym gloves

I feel so down after losing my weight training gloves. I think I left it at the gym. When I came back to look for it, it's nowhere to be found. I had them for almost three years. If not for the sentimental value, it's also a Nike. Maybe it's a sign for me to quit going to the gym. It's starting to bore me anyway.

Pinoy Big Brother 2 Finale

Finally, the 2nd season of Pinoy Big Brother came to an end. Amid all the controversies (cough, cough, Wendy..cough!), this PBB2 season was a big success, at least in my opinion. To think that the controversies surrounding it may have actually contributed boosting the ratings!

The show created controversies because of the now infamous house mate Wendy. **Read here: I don't want to bother writing about this again! ;p** To make it short, many are wondering how she never gets eliminated even though almost all visible PBB2 junkies hate her guts. This prompted people (this one included) of thinking that there might be a 'conspiracy' for Wendy's survival. In short, people are thinking that the PBB2 higher powers are actually rigging the votes in favor of Wendita.. uhh.. I mean Wendy.

Eviction days passed, and Wendy kept on surviving... finally becoming part of the 'Big 4', amid people's dismay and boos ("Wendy labas!"). Come the Big Night, the winner is slowly revealed. Much to my relief, Wendy didn't win!!! Although I was somehow hoping she would! Why?! Because I'm sure there will be a riot inside the Big Dome! That WOULD'VE been something! Hahaha!

Ok, I actually felt sorry for her (Wendy). She got booed and all, but that's all her fault anyway, acting bitchy, jologs, and all. Still, she's still human and she's prone to make mistakes. Too bad, she showed all her mistakes right in front of everyone on national television. Well, enough for all the Wendy talk. Here's the complete tally anyway.

PBB2 Big Four Grand Winner
1,571,556 votes
Beatriz Saw

PBB2 Big Four Big Winner 2nd Big Placer

1,286,166 votes
Mickey Perz

PBB2 Big Four Big Winner 3rd Placer
1,209,978 Votes
Wendy Valdez

PBB2 Big Four Big Winner 4th Big Placer
1,119,714 Votes
Gee-Ann

Drats! I was actually rooting for Mickey! I've always liked him ever since from the start. He almost made it! Haaay! He would've been the first MALE winner, if ever he won. I just hope ABSCBN builds him up as a talent. Would certainly want to see more of him in the future!

Beatriz was OK as a winner anyways. Actually my mom was rooting for her. She likes Bea for being confident and calm specially on tight situations (calling psycho ward Maricris!) She certainly deserve it. I must agree! ;p

Well, 'til the next PBB season! ;p

Regina's burial

We were all supposed to meet in Jollibee Welcome Rotonda at 8am, en route to Reg's burial. God forgive me I was still in bed during 8:15am! Thank Drey for 'calling up', waking us (my mom and I). I got there around 8:50am (don't ask how fast I bathed!) Luckily we got there on time. The trip to Valezuela, where the burial will take place, was long. There was unexpected traffic.

It was certainly an emotional moment for Reg's family, as well as close friends. After her dad delivered a very emotional and meaningful eulogy speech, the casket was lowered and buried. Finally, Regina, our dearest friend and classmate, can rest in peace.
